If you attach the VGA and just the projector(or external screen) is not working and your computer still works, it could be a settings option. Connecting it then going to Start>Control Panel> Hardware and Sound>Connect to a projector. Make sure "computer only" isn't marked.

Hope i could help

The flickering may not be caused by a corrupt driver, it could be the impending failure of the fluorescent back light of the display or its high voltage supply.

Trying driver replacement though is the first thing to try.
If the original driver is corrupt, you can try the following;

- Right-click on My Computer
- Left-click on Properties
- Click on Hardware tab
- Click on Device Manager
- Locate and open Display Adaptors
- Locate the video listing for your
- Highlight and delete this
- Reboot the computer

If Windows does what it should (no guarantee on this!), it will 'find' a 'new device' and install the driver for it.

SOURCE: taptop connect to TV audio preoblems

Hi there.
If your TV supports a VGA cable it should also support computer audio in. You need to purchase a mini stereo cable and plug it in to the headphone socket on the laptop and run it to the computer audio in on the TV,just using the VGA cable alone will not produce any sound.
Purchase something like this for the audio >>>>>>

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

SOURCE: Connecting Dell Inspiron B130 PC Notebook to HDTV

Youll need a regular VGA cord and a 3.5mm to RCA conversion audio cable from Radio Shack like the one below. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2428708
forget going the HDMI route, it isn't worth the money youd have to spend on a converter. once you got your cables hooked up, consult this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/northrup_multimon.mspx

You must detect what parts is failure
Screen display, inverter board or lamp
Follow these step.
1.- Connect an external monitor (at VGA port) and check the image in external monitor
If show clear image. The failure may be the inverter board or the lamp backlight
Inverter boars is more easy to replace.

DELL D630 NOT WORKING

1. Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB hubs, USB drives, etc...) and
then boot up. If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you
discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated drivers or software for the device.
2. Use the"Last known good configuration" from the Windows Advanced Options menu. If this option resolves the issue then look for any updates or software installs
that may have caused the problem.
3. Boot to Safe Mode from the Windows Advanced Options menu.If you can get into safe mode then the issue could be driver or software related. From within Safe Mode run a System Restore.
4. Perform a Clean Boot as needed

My dell latitude d630 screen is working but the vga is having a problem even when i connect my laptop to CRT or LCD screens it does not appear with good graphics so i want to know if i can replace an...

Assuming the graphics drivers are up to date and assuming you have a high resolution set in the display on the control panel, the screen may be damaged or the VGA cable damaged. In extreme cases the onboard chip may be loosning from the motherboard. You cannot install an external graphics card on this laptop. I would check the above and see if the existing setup can be repaired economically

How do I hook up a flat panel tv w/hdmi to a dell d630 laptop. I tried vga cable from laptop to hdmi input in tv .no sgnal

You are going to suffer from quality issues because vga is the best connection for video out the D630 has. You should be able to hook the vga up directly. this gives around 480p i think. If you don't have that input, then look for vga converter boxes.Don't forget to change the display in graphics properties so that the video actually gets sent out.

MY D630 LAPTOP DOES NOT WORK IN DOCKING STATION

When powering on the D630 from the Docking Station, press F2 to go into Setup. Scroll down to the Docking Section, and check the Dock device info for the status. If it shows undocked, then try changing the below settings to: Hot Undock, Enabled Silent, and Universal Connect Enabled. Save these settings. Make sure you update your BIOS to A16 from http://support.dell.com under drivers and downloads section. If still not recognized after this, check the dock port on the D630 for obstructions or burn markings on the pins. try cleaning with rubbing alcohol and qtip swab. I have seen a few cases like this and ultimately the motherboard was the issue and needed to be replaced.

Many times what happens is during Microsoft updates this audio card PC driver gets lost.
You may need to go to Dell's Web site to locate your specific Model's audio card driver and then reload it.
Worth a try!
