Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The buttons of my laptops mouse pad are working .but it is unable to select any icon i.e., double click and clicks are not working even though the mouse pointer is moving over the screen

The model of the computer was not specified, so I am giving general advice. On the dell I am using at this very moment, if you go into control panel > mouse, there is an option to disable the touchpad buttons. Check around in here and see if you have something similar. If not, check device manager and see if you have a touchpad installed or just generic pointing device. If the driver is not installed, visit support.dell.com, download the driver, and install. The newer dells have a boot menu you can get to by pressing f12 on the dell logo, from here you may be able to select diagnostics and eventually get to a screen that will let you move around the mouse and click things, see if the buttons work in here. If you have problems in the diagnostics, you are looking at a hardware problem, if not, a software/driver problem.

The mouse cursor icon is stuck on the screen and won't move around, but I'm still able to highlight things without knowing where the mouse is going. How do I get the mouse icon to work and start moving...

Right click the Rise of Nations display icon, go to 'Properties' and go to 'open file location'.
Look for a '.ini' file called 'Rise2' - double click it to open it up.
You will see this about mid way through the list that then pops up:
ForceHardwareCursor=0
ForceGDICursor=0
ForceBWCursor=0
ForceStaticCursor=0
change all of the 0's into 1 - then go to file, save. This should fix any issues you have with the mouse not working properly.
