I replaced the mother board about a year ago and everything was working fine until recently I changed my filter. 2 days later the water dispenser stopped working but everything else, crushed ice and cubes are working fine. I checked the line tap in the basement and that seems fine also. Suggestions?

http://www.repairclinic.com/0100_1.asp There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem
The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.
GE refrigerator cooling but not properly..... I had the mother board changed one or two years ago for a similar problem..... not sure if that the problem again. Wondering if that a common problem with this refrigerator. model number psc25psw
Those filters are for refrigerators that have heavily treated water in the household. You could have a filter that filters your water supply and not use the filter inside the frig. Why use both? Now, if your home is not filtered, you may need it. Check to see if the water supply line is crimped somewhere or frozen when it gets inside the frig.
I had the exact problem with my GSL25JFRFBS. It turned out to be a bad control board. The service technician that replaced the board said that the lights dimming on the on the ice/water dispenser is a direct indication of the control board being bad. This cost me $303.53 and my refridgerator is only a little over 2 years old. You can buy a new control board - WR55X10656 from GE online for a little over $157.00. From what I've found, this is an inherit issue with this model.
I had the same problem as do thousands of people with this same fridge. The mother board is bad and needs to be replaced. It is easy to do yourself and the part costs less than a service call.: Unplug the cord from the wall, remove the panel from the back of the fridge (it is about the size of a small shoe box lid) You will see the mother board (ice, water, light, and compressor control unit). It is an electronic circuit board. There are about 5 or so plugs going into the board. Remove the plugs and the retaining screws and search Ebay for the part#WR55x10552 GE Power Control Board. I found one for $74, popped it in, and everything works better than new!
