Powering on problems

Doesn't turn on unless I repeatedly hold the power button until the lights turn off and do it again usually takes around 4 times is this serious enough to return it or is this a simple fix?

This could be a software problem. If you added anything or got an update. Try powering it off and then start it again and when it starts select safe mode by pressing F8 immediately BEFORE WINDOWS starts. Then select restore and see if it lists any dates that you can set it back to that you know it worked in.

SOURCE: Lenovo Ideapad Z570: Battery indicator shows the Power is plugged in & charging. But the Battery charge percentage doesn't increase. How to fix this?

The battery might be nearing the end of it's useful life and needs to be replaced. The battery only lasts for so long then it has to be replaced.

Buy a battery on ebay base on your computer's Make and model, not the model of the battery.

How can i bypass my forgot admin password on my compaq armada e500

With the older Compaq Armada E500 Notebook PC, I believe;

1) Remove the CMOS battery.

2) Leave it out for 30 minutes.

3) Press the Power On button, and hold it for a count of 10 seconds. Let go of the Power On button.

Press it again. If the Power On light comes on, hold the Power On button in, until the light goes out. Keep pressing, and holding the Power On button in, until the Power On LED light does Not come on anymore.

Reinstall the CMOS battery. WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

If this doesn't do it, there is a capacitor inside the laptop keeping residual power. There may be two copper pads that are briefly touched across, to dissipate this residual power.

Perform the removal of the CMOS battery first. If this doesn't work I'll try to find info on the copper pads. (They are usually under the Wireless Card, and a small piece of Mylar plastic sheet)

Post back in a Comment as to your findings.

Osd main controler lockd

Hi there.
OSD Lockout or On Screen Display Lockout message is that irritating on-screen message that sometimes pops up when you switch on your monitor. This completely locks all monitor settings.
This problem has most likely happened to everybody at some stage or another. Everything has worked fine until now you turn on your monitor and have a message glaring you in the face displaying something about "OSD Lockout". This doesn't allow you to change any of your monitors settings, including the setting intended to turn off this message. While this problem mainly happens on HP monitors from my looking around I know that others have encountered it on other brands as well. The fixes I provide below should work on those monitors too so don't fear if your monitor isn't an HP model.
The HP Fixes
FIX 1
Plug in the monitor and power it up. Hold down the monitor's Power button until you get a message saying "OSD Unlocked". If the problem persists after OSD is unlocked then unplug the monitor from the wall, wait a few seconds (just to be sure I'd give it anything around 20-30 seconds) and then try again.
FIX 2
Instead of holding down the Power button, turn on the monitor and hold down the Menu button for 10-20 seconds. This should unlock the OSD.
FIX 3
Turn off the monitor, press down the Menu button and then turn on the monitor. Wait 10-20 seconds. This should unlock the OSD.
FIX 4
The Menu button may be stuck in a pressed in position. To get it "unstuck" you'll usually need to open up the monitor. If your not a seasoned veteran at opening up electronics (and knowing where all the screws go back into) then this could be tricky unless you know what you're doing. Unfortunately there are too many models of monitors for me to give a step by step instruction guide for you. If you have warranty this is where you should use it, I suggest you contact the manufacturer.
The AOC Fixes
FIX 1
Turn off the monitor, hold menu and power button together for 10 seconds then turn back on.
Currently these are the most commeon fixes.

My error message is 8001002b how can I play games and fix that?

Here is the step by step process

Step one:- Have you're system on standby (off) and press and hold the power button until it turns off and on, do not take you're finger off until it has turned off again.

Step Two:- Now press and hold the power button again and when you hear two beeps let go of the button. You will be taken to a screen with about 5 different options.

Step Three:- Select option two which does a system restore, dont worry you're data will not be lost. After it has completed, go back to the XMB and try a game. If it does not work still repeat the above process and try option 3. Then option four if it still doesnt work and then 5. Option 5 WILL erase you're hard drive.

After all this if it still doesn't work, ring sony, explain you have done these process's and they will take a few details off you to deliver a new system next day to you.

WARNING!!!!!!

Back up all you're save data and anything you wish not to loose.

How can i fix this error 80010006

The 80010006 error means that an error occurred during the start operation (a corupted folding install)

To fix this issue, you have to go to Recovery Menu. Power Off your console, then hold the power button until it turns on and off again. Now, hold power button again until you hear two fast beep noises. If this doesn't work, reapeat holding the power button until it turns on and off.

You can also do a firmware update (to 3.15)

I hope I helped! If not, please leave a reply!

How do you program an RCA "RCR 615 DCM1" universal remote? Any instructions out there?

I know this is an old post, however if anyone else needs to know how to program the RCA RCR 615 DCM1 universal remote here is how: Turn on the device you wish to program, dold the device button you wish to program (tv, vcr, dvd, etc.) While holding the button with one hand, press and hold the power button with the other, hold both buttons until the device button lights up and stays on then release both buttons at once. Light should remain on. Point remote toward the device and press play button every 5 seconds until device shuts off. Once the device shuts off, with remote still pointed toward the device, slowly hit the reverse button (rewind button) until the device turns on again and then hit stop button. Now your device should be programmed. Repeat for each device. Hope this helps someone, because I had this problem myself and I played around with the remote until I figured it out . This may work for other RCA RCR----- remotes as well.

Here is the simple way of doing it:

0) Turn on TV.
1) Press and hold the TV button, light lights up, continue to hold.
2) Press and hold the power button, light turns off, keep holding both buttons down until light comes back on, release both buttons, light stays on.
3) Point remote towards TV the entire time you are programming.
4) Press and release play button, wait 5 seconds, if TV did not turn off press and release play button again wait 5 seconds. Repeat until TV turns off. (When your TV turns off, it was in the last 10 codes sent).
5) Press and release Reverse button, wait 2 seconds, repeat until TV turns back on.
6) Once the TV turns back on press and release Stop button.
7) Your Remote is now programed! Test it by pressing the power button, volume, mute etc..
