I have a Uniden Atlantis 260 that will not transmit. I have checked the battery and it is fine. The unit is only 2 yrs old and the 12 month warranty has run out.

thats the problem with warrenties. They always run out before the product breaks.Did you let moisture get inside? I don't think its that much of a problem. take it to a cb shop and let them do it up for you.

How can I make the 19DXIV VHF capable

There is no way to make that radio VHF capable, CB radio's operate in the AM band, and most, if not all VHF radio's operate in the FM band. CB radio's are not capable of VHF frequencies either, VHF is considered around 40MHz and above, CB radio's operate between 26.965 MHz and 27.405MHz that is considered 11 meter band HF. CB radio's are not broadbanded enough to cover anything that far away, expecially the newer radio's, as most of them are controlled via a microcontroller and PLL tuning circuit. the 19DXIV is a great little radio, but will never be able to operate in or even around VHF. sorry.

My uniden ltd 715 receives from my handheld but when I transmit to handheld it just buzzes.

Just to clarify something, you say that your hand-held VHF can receive a clear transmission from the Uniden, now which of the radios are buzzing, the Uniden or the HH?. If it's the hand-held buzzing try transmitting on the low watt on the Uniden, get some distance from the radio, because if the hand-held are to close to the on the Uniden on high watt you will get a buzzing, the signal are overpowering the receiver of the hand-held, try getting the minimum of 30 feet away. Good luck.

In Thailand Cb radio users must use freq range 245.000 - 249.999 freqs. Do usa Cb's use this freq?

Thailand actually has three "CB" bands, the first is the same as the U.S. / CEPT (EU "European Community) band 26.965 - 27.405 MHz, the second is a 78MHz VHF mid CB band (I think its either 40 or 80 channels with FM mode) and then the 245.0000 - 245.9875 MHz VHF 80 channel band - apparently the law also stipulates that the 78MHz CBs must be yellow colored and the 245MHz CBs must be red colored.

But yeah, 245MHz Thailand VHF CBs are very illegal in the United States.

Programing Motorola HT1000

The HT1000 is a dealer programmable unit. The DTMF keypad on the front of the unit would be nonfunctional unless you were using it in conjunction with a repeater system which allows for DTMF phone capabilities. Otherwise it is just an extra place for dust, dirt and moisture to get in the radio. If you are working as a firefighter, it is highly recommended you get a holster to cover the front of the radio to prevent moisture from getting to the component board through the keypad area. As for telling if the radio is VHF or UHF, typically the 4th digit of the model number will tell you. If it is an R it is UHF; if it is a K it is VHF. What's the channel frequencies for a common 22 channel motorola 2 way vhf radio?

Not sure what you want.....VHF band ius approximatly 130mhz to 175 mhz..... in that VHF band there is a commercial VHF band aprox. 155 mhz to 175...... the amateur radio vhf band is aprox. 135 to 150mhz.

With amateur radio, any freq in that range can be used...... with commercial radio the FCC cangive a company any freq. in that range also.

If you are looking for FRS/GMRS frequencies they are UHF freqs not VHF.

So I'm not sure exactly what you want......sounds like you might want to program in FRS freqs into an Icom amateur radio. If thats  the case you will need an Icom that will do UHF freqs.
