I purchased a 2007 ford ranger fx4 off road automatic supercab at 100000km when i got an oil change at 115000 i was told that the front differential and transfer case oil needed to be changed i went back...

It is impossible to look at fluids and tell if they need to be changed in any vehicle with mileage on it. Many states even have laws against people at service stations from putting your fluid next to new fluid.

The bottom line is as a part gets used it builds up an amount of dirt or sludge. You can change the fluid and a week later it will look exactly like what you took out. That is why you go by mileage not appearance.

The passenger front caliper on my 2003 FX4 once in a while will not release all the way. When you beat on it with a hammer it will release. It always seems to do it on Hot days. Is there a solution or...

I suggest may stay engaged and cause overheating and seizure of bearings and axle shaft....this is risky if it occurs while driving. Also, these components are a lot more costly than a caliper.. Consider too, that the other caliper is same age and maybe due for failure. !

My rear end chatters around corners and if im pulling a trailer my abs light and the wrench shaped light will come on in my 2004 f150 fx4 supercrew

If you have a locking rear diff,it could be the clutches on the side gears or lack of fluid and special additive. Sounds like the wheel speed is off enough on corner,to set the ABS light, when it chatters. Don't over look parking brake and rear caliper issues.

Go for a supension lift. Rancho and skyjacker are two of my favorites. A body lift will allow for bigger tires but you can run into shift linkage problems. With a suspesion lift you get the bigger tires without having to modify little else

Does the 2001 F-350 have a limited slip? If Yes, do the have certain issues?

If you have the FX4 option, it does. The FX4 models are basically a standard 4x4 with an Off Road package that includes a few extras like upgraded heavy duty Rancho shocks, limited-slip rear differential, added skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case, and two "FX4" decals on both back bed-sides instead of the standard "4x4".

I checked the Ford truck forums and found nothing out of the usual for limited-slip differentials as far as having problems. Older years yes, current year don't seem to have problems.

I cannot figure out how to get the calipers off of the rear of an F150 FX4. Are the bolts covered somehow?

The bolts should not be covered by anything. You can locate them on the back side of the calipers where the bracket wings down toward the axle.

2004 Ford F-150 extended cab FX4. 4WD problem

Your front hubs are automatic locking hubs, and the gears are hard nylon. These hubs break very easily, therefore causing you to lose your front wheel drive in 4 high, or 4 low. If you replace the hubs with "WARN (name brand) " manual locking hubs, you will never have the issue again. Of course, you will have to get out of the truck and manually lock the hubs, but they are metal gears, and much more durable. I've personally seen the issue several times, and changing the hubs has resolved the issue every time.
