How do I disable the touchpad on Dell Inspiron 1525

On my Dell there's a system tray application that you use to manage the touchpad. Look for that. Some touchpads now de-activate if you double-tap on the upper left corner. Barring the above, you can go into the startup section of the registry and disable the driver. Please be careful when editing registry values.

My dell inspiton touchpad scroll on the bottom and the side has stoped working what can i do (it does when i format my laptop)plz help

You should go to Dell's website and look for drivers for your specific model. Usually you will need the correct drivers for this to function properly. Once you've downloaded and installed them, do a reboot and your scroll bars should work correctly again.

Can't disable touch pad

Hello,
Windows hides rarely used icons. If your does, then the task bar shows a left pointing arrow < . Click it and look for the icone for touchpad.

If you cant find that icon,
In WINDOWS XP
1. Start
2. Contol Panel
3. Right click the Mouse icon.
4. Under the Touchpad ON/OFF thumbnail, put a check mark in the disable option.
5. Use the same procedure to enable touchpad

My touchpad will not scroll. I have an Alienware laptop with vista. It will scroll for a little while and then it just stops. I have played with the mouse settings but I can't seem to find the problem....

Hi,

Just goto dell touchpad (the one that blinks in the task bar) and change the setting accordingly. Increase the scroll sensitivity, and it works like a charm.

Kiran
