Question about Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Camera
I have had this camera for at least a year and I have never had any problems. Recently, I took several pictures, turned the camera off and when I turned it back on later to view these pictures, the screen read "No images". As I took more pictures, only some would save, the other seemed to be erased. Periodically, it erases pictures while some remain. A few that I believed to be erased returned to view. I have 23 pictures on the camera now and it reads "Memory Card Full". How can I retrieve the pictures that might be on this card?
Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:
You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:
Finally AFTER you've recovered your photos, consider formatting your card IN YOUR CAMERA (did you do this when you first got the card? if not, this is what eventually happens). Keep in mind formatting the card will also totally and permanently erase the card. Press menu, then select the tools menu, then scroll down to the selection stating your cards memory capacity and select it. Then follow the on-screen prompts for a "low-level" format. This should help prevent this from happening again in the future.
