SOURCE: hello, I have a Sony Cybershot
The memory stick has become corrupted. You'll need to format the card in your camera (using the camera's format feature in its menus) to correct the problem. However, this WILL ERASE THE CARD. So you will want to do this only after you've recovered the current photos on the card. Please see this link to help you do such.

The LCD screen may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a computer. To play images you have taken on the camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files. I suggest that you transfer the images from the Camera to the computer and check if it works. After transferring the images, get the Memory formatted from the Camera and start capturing new images. The edited images will not get displayed in the Camera again. Please try not to edit the images in the Computer without transferring it.
