SOURCE: my 455 rancher won't maintain power. I have

If you have been running ethnol mix in your saw there is a good chance that your fuel vent line is plugged. Loosen your fuel cap and start saw on its side and see if it runs. If it does you will have to clean your fuel vent.

SOURCE: 455 rancher chainsaw does not pump oil to the chain

If you look under the machine by the chain you'll see a flat head screw (next to the sprocket) which controls the bar and chain oil flow . Try to turn the screw and check if there's any oil flow to the chain . If not you will need to replace the oil pump (part # 537 10 55-02 which will cost you about $35.00) Hope this help

SOURCE: husqvarna rancher... chain tensioner not working

A Husqvarva IPL for a 455 Rancher 2005-01, follows (may not be your saw):
See print "A" (clutch cover) pn 537 28 64-01 & pn 503 21 70-10, if missing or loose these may cause your problem. If not an inspection of the parts beneath may disclose the defect.

If the bar is what can be moved pn 537 28 65-01 or 537 28 66-01 may be stripped. After I determined what parts need replacement, I would contact a local Husky Dealer. They may have these parts on hand and if not ordering through them should save you shipping and handling fees.

If your saw was not manufactured between Jan 2005 and Mar 2005 you can find your IPL here:
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000; please contact Husqvarna for single digit clarification
15 = week produced – March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

SOURCE: magneto to flywheel gap for Husqvarna 455 Chain Saw

Ignition module gap
Place a business or index card between the fly wheel and coil, rotate until the magnetic attraction pulls everything tight together. Tighten the coil screws, rotate the flywheel until the attraction eases and remove the card. Ensure nothing contacts when flywheel is rotated.

Pawls don't catch on rancher 455

The starter pawls are held on with small springs. If the springs are broken or installed incorrectly, this can happen. I would suggest replacing the springs and maybe the pawls. Check the recoil assembly to make sure the issue is not with the recoil assembly.

Starter rope grabs at times. why?

try using the de-compression button when starting, will do the same as removing the spark plug but without removing the spark plug.

Failing that, remove the starter cover and check starter cord for daage or signs of snagging.

Huskavarna 455 rancher with pplug keeps popping out

This is the de compression button, it should be pushed in every time you start the saw, it makes it easier for you to start the saw and reduces the stress and wear on the starter components, it will automatically pop out when the saw starts.

Husqvarna 51 will not start

Two things to check, ren=move the flywheel and check the key has not sheared, remove the muffler and check the condition of the piton through the open exhaust port, any signs of scuffing or damage and the saw will have to come apart for further investigation.

Start up rope is lock will not crank de motor disassemble th rope mount ders nothing wrong with the rope gaget but the wheel on the side of the motor will not turn

Remove the spark plug and see if the flywheel will turn. If it does, then there is excess fuel in the combustion chamber--install the starter and pull it through vigorously several times to expel the raw fuel. If it does not turn, then suspect that the engine has seized due to insufficient or no oil premixed into the fuel. Remove the muffler and inspect the piston, ring(s), and cylinder for excess scoring. The repair is to replace these parts--an expensive process even if you perform the labor. Any existing warranty will not cover this problem. Hope this helps!

I have a husqvarna 455 rancher. It was working

Take it right back to repair shop and have them fix under their warranty.

It is possible the fuel hasn't got to the carbureator due to plugged fuel filter or fuel finder OR an air leak in the fuel hose.

How do I get the clutch drum off? Husky 55 Rancher

A YouTube video shows the procedure using a Husqvarna 350 here:
1. I looked at IPLs for the 55 & 455 and didn't see any special tools.
2. A length of starter cord or nylon rope may be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and be cut when the piston rises.
3. It is probably a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it).
Let us know how it worked for you. GL
It appears the 455 must be a "spur" type chain drive sprocket. the 55 offers the option of a "rim and spline" drive sprocket. If replacing the clutch drum I recommend the "rim and spline".

How do i remove the cluth drun on a husqvarna 455 rancher

Hi, first take off the clutch cover by removing the two bar nuts.
The nut on the clutch is left hand thread. You need to have some sort of piston stop to bind the engine when you remove the nut. They make tools just for that( it's called a piston stop) but I like using a small piece of rope. Just take out the spark plug, run a bit of the rope down in the cylinder and that will hold the piston really well. You could use a lof of things for that, I would be careful that it's something that won't gouge or mess up the top of the piston though. When you have that done you can remove the nut holding the clutch assembly on and remove the drum. ( REMEMBER that left hand thread ) Hope that helps you.
