Question about Samsung HL-T5076S 50 in. TV
"I have a samsung DLP HL-T5076SX/XAA, the last couple week or so it's it'd been slow to turn onThe other day I turned it on, it came on and shut it self off... after turning the set back on it seemed to work fine . Today when I tried to turn it on I get no picture, note it seems the lamp is coming on and i have had the lamp replaced but samsung about 2 years about also I just had the dmd chip replaced about 3 days ago. I have been hearing louder then normal humming coming for the set. Could it be a bad color wheel? Please help.

Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I just moved and set up my Samsung 40" LCD and it has been going off and on by itself with the worst yesterday every 2-3 minutes. After speaking with a friend of mine who is not in the Tv business but just has good common sense, I determined it was likely a bad power strip. The bottom line is I replaced the crappy power strip (which was fully loaded with all 6 outlets in use) with the higher quality one I had in the other room. The problem is gone. I suspect the power strip was failing or real bad quality........try plugging the tv directly into the wall outlet first. hope this helped.

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire
