The duct fuse is probably blown. Mounted on the rear of the dryer on the blower housing. Make sure you get the lint out the dryer or you will be replacing this one a lot.My dryer will not come on at all - 5102b6e.jpg

Dryer worked for the 1st and 2nd load of clothes. Went to put 3rd load dryer wouldn't work. I checked to see if door was closed properly, and dryer turned on. I also had my husband to check our circuit...

it might be a partially blocked vent that causes the dryer to overheat over a period of use. trips the hi temp limit switch/thermostat. did it cool down and start working, or is this permanent.

Dryer on sensor dry - gets stuck on 6 minutes and does not finish

We have been having this same problem. I had tried adjusting everything that I could think of when putting a load of laundry in and got the exact same results as you. I would select the sensor dry and it would count down just like normal until it got to 6 minutes and then it would just run forever at 6 minutes.
My husband and I searched online all this afternoon and came across what seemed way to simple to work. We removed the lint filter, unscrewed the filter housing right inside the door of the dryer, and got to the sensors. We took a damp cloth and wiped them off very well to remove any and all buildup. We wiped everything down very well to remove any built up lint and/or dirt and put everything back in place as was before. We then unplugged the dryer for about a minute and then plugged back in. We put a load of already dry clothes into the dryer and started as usual with the sensor dry. It started out at the usual 41 minutes then skipped down almost immediately to 6 minutes and then a few minutes later I heard the most beautiful sound I have heard in a long time. The Beeper signalling that the timer had counted down to the end and was finished. It had worked. Thankfully. Hope this helps you also.

No power to dryer

Does your Husband have a meter to check voltage? if not any good hardware store, Sears or Radioshack will sell you a meter for checking voltage at the outlet. I cant give him a lesson on electricity he has to feel comfortable with that.

I have witnessed many dryer installations where they blame the dryer and come to find out its the house wiring, oh bye the way here is my bill and you need to call an Electrician to replace this and he will bill you also. My service stops at the power cord! Make sure when your husband checks for loose wires he has the power off, if you are not sure of the correct breaker turn the main off. then he can check for all the loose wires and he wont fry himself.

I would also ask that you turn the breaker off and on several times to reset it, the dryer could still run but not heat if one side doesnt work.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

GE Profile Electric Dryer, Blower nt getting up to speed

You need to replace the blower motor. It says you are having temp problems because the blower is quitting and the heater is overheating.

GE Profile Electric Dryer, Blower nt getting up to speed

On all the ones I've seen with this problem, they've needed a new blower motor. Don't take that as the golden answer because even G.E. tech support doesn't know. It could be the control board, but I haven't seen that yet. G.E. always recommends replacing the inlet thermister, which is accessed through a little cover on the back. Good luck & welcome to the wonderful world of complex electronic appliances.

I'm having the same problem with my GE dryer. I think that it may the safety thermostat receaching maximum temperature and shutting the dryer down.
I'm currently researching this problem now.
