Question about Hobart 24 in. LXIC-5 Built-in Dishwasher

Temperature Problem The water will not reach its proper temperature and a EO error code comes up with a wrench symbol next to it. How do I fix this?

    It is a model lx30h and both the wash and rinse temperatures are low. Thanks.

    I have a Hobart LX30H undercounter commercial dishwasher. It will fill & wash. Then won't go to the rinse cycle? The water temp doesn't seem to be getting hot enough to sanitize the dishes. Any suggestions??

    Turn the circuit breaker off or pull the power plug.Remove the 2 screws on the lower panel in front.Lift up the white plastic cover and you will see a little black disc with a red button in the middle--press this in.That was the high limit for the heater for the wash cycle.To the right you will see another one and on the right of the booster between the side of the cover is another one,press these also,they are for your booster heater.Power up the unit and well go from there,let it sit 20 min to get hot.Let me know.

When the alarm C9 appears, to facilitate fault-finding a parameter providing a more detailed indication has

been introduced.

The parameter is C9 and is found in the ron family.

The possible cause of the anomaly can be found (see next table) according to the value of the parameter C9.

E.g.: With an automatic hood type the alarm C9 appears.

Access the parameter C9 in the ron family.

Assuming the value displayed is:

20 ? During lifting, the current absorbed by the lifting motor has exceeded the threshold. This can happen if

a rack or other heavy material was placed on the hood.

WARNING:

Alarms C2, C6 and C7 lock the boiler temperature control.

Alarms C3, C4 and C5 lock the tank temperature control.

In the case of alarms C6 and C7, the boiler waiting phase is not executed (the rinse may be performed

with cold water) and, during the initial warm-up and subsequent rinses ( btF > 0 ), the boiler heating

phase is not executed.

In the case of an open probe error ( C4, C6 e C10 ), the displayed temperature is 10°C

In the case of a shorted probe error ( C5,C7 e C11 ) , the displayed temperature is 99°C.

Is the connection between main board and control panel correct? Are the connectors correctly

E2 Tank temperature low

Are the dishwasher feed voltage and current correct?

Drain Pump If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective YOU'LL need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.
Heating Element If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Heating Element Assembly If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element assembly might have burned out. The heating element assembly heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element assembly can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced
Touchpad If the display lights are flickering for no reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

Check Fault Codes If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the Error Codes guide on our website to determine which component has failed or is failing

My whirlpool dishwasher just stopped working the middle of the cycle with water still in the bottom and now nothing lights up or comes on and the water is just sitting in the bottom. Any suggestions?

Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't complete, then the first thing that should be checked is the Timer and then the heating element. Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault and required to be replaced. Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next depends, as follows: On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time. On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

What does a thermometer symbol with up arrow mean on an shx68


Hello Jsg5,

That symbol means that the dishwasher is heating the water, bringing it up to the required temperature to properly sanitize your dishes.

This symbol can appear during the wash and rinse cycles. It is nothing to worry about. Most dishwasher will heat up the wash and rinse water, it's just that Bosch decided to add an indicator, so users would know that any delay in the wash/rinse cycle, is a result of getting the water up to the proper temperature (typically around 140 degrees F)

Even if you've got your hot water heater or hot water supply set to a very low temperature, the dishwasher will use the built-in heating element (the drying element in the bottom of the dishwasher) to heat the water.

P1 error code on LX30 Hobart


This is a bad sump temperature probe. The unit will function, but will not heat nor display the wash water temperature.

This is a very easy fix. Order Hobart part number 328994 from your nearest Hobart parts dept.

Turn off and drain the unit. Kill the power to the unit at the circuit breaker. Remove the lower front cover. Locate the screw-in temperature probe at the front of the sump. Unplug the sensor from the wiring harness, remove with a 7/16" open end wrench. Screw in the new probe, using teflon tape of the threads, snuggly. It does not need to be super tight. Plug it into the harness, reinstall the front cover, turn the breaker back on, and start up the unit.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF AS EVEN WITH THE UNIT "OFF" THERE WILL BE 120 VOLTS PRESENT AT THE SUMP HEATER (yellow wires) DUE TO ONLY ONE LEG OF POWER BEING SWITCHED OFF!

Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time. 

On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too. 

Timer
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it. 

I see an error code
If your dishwasher has a digital readout and you see an error code, it may indicate a problem with the unit. If this happens, look up the error code in your owner's manual to find out what the problem is.

Received from Danby customer support:
"The error code of E3 tells us that the unit is not getting the proper water temperature to continue thru the entire cycle. Before starting the dishwasher and attaching the quick connect assembly to the faucet, please make sure that the water from the faucet is warm to the touch; you can then attach the quick connect assembly with hose to the faucet and start the unit. If the water temperature does not reach 120 degrees F the dishwasher will not be able to run thru the entire cycle properly. If this is being done and the same code comes up, we will need a service tech in you area to diagnose the problem for us. For a warranty servicer in your area you can reach us at 800-263-2629 Mon-Thu 8:30-5 or Fri 8:30-4 EST."
