I am having the exact same problem. It just occurred out of nowhere. have owned TV for about two months now, bought totally new from best buy.

I had a similar problems as well and I bought mine around December and it is acting real weird. I put in a DVD it sucks it in, ejects, plays...pause ejects..and so forth. And when I am not even in DVD area, I am on AV2, it says "No disc" and you hear a noise like it is trying to take in a disc. This is just driving me crazy. I tried to unplug the back and stick in more...for some reason it doesn't want to go all the way. I shuved the cable in the back and so far, it is ok. But I will not hold my breath on it. I wish I should have gotten just a regular TV without the DVD player. :-( This TV has a nasty memory that remembers everything that you clicked on.

That was the cure. It absolutely worked. The only problem I got is, why doesn't the manufacturer put this in troubleshooting.

Hold the power button on the front of the set down for 5 seconds and then unplug the tv while continuing to hold the power button down for twenty more seconds then plug tv back in this resets it and it should work. It worked for mine when I called the service center at LG.

Hi, sounds like the laser pickup (module) is faulty and needs replacing, you'd have to take it in for repair or if you are able to repair it yourself make a note of the laser pickup number (usually on the side of the pickup) you may need a magnifing glass to read it then search google for it, they are usually pretty easy to get, if not contact your local repair shop, they may be good enough to order one for you,

Hope this helps.

LG model 32LG40 /w DVD player; disc stuck inside; cannot remove or play disc.

You must take your set in to have the player removed, dis-mantled and the disc removed. I never recommend to my customers ever buying a built in unit. Just food for thought the next time you purchase a set. Always buy separate.

32lg40 built in dvd player disk error

There definatley could be a firmware issue with that TV's DVD player if the model has just been released.  My suggestion would be to bring a couple of known to be working DVD's back to the store and try their floor model as well.  This will be easier than bringing back the TV for the second time.  If this is a problem with the DVD player's firmware, LG should be able to fix it under warranty so I would call them or swap out the TV for another brand instead.

I have an LG DVD Recorder Model DR 389. It first stopped recording (was getting message "regional code incorrect" & was playing DVDs. Now when a recorded or pre-recorded DVD is put in - it just keeps saying "Reading" .... and doesn't play.

Could it be the lens ?
