SOURCE: washing machine won't spin

The lid switch is likely defective. Test with a VOM meter and replace as needed.

SOURCE: Loud clicking noise - wont agitate or spin

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix

Perhaps the exit hose behind your machine is not at the correct height, about 3 feet from ground. Your pump pumps the waste over this height, into your standpipe or sink; check this out.

You don't mention if the drum spins if you choose the spin program, if it doesn't it could be the brushes on the motor. This would be a cheaper option to try first rather than a board. sometimes you can clean the com or tap the brush carriers gently and get the motor to spin on an empty or small load.

If you're confident, with the power offer and machine isolated you can check the resistance across both the brushes and slowly rotate the motor as a test.
hope this helps

Will wash but not empty nor rinse nor spin but will only fill and wash

You have a bad lid switch, the unit will not progress through the cycle without sensing the lid is closed. With a model number I can help you get to the lid switch and or replace the switch you need.

Hope this helps

First washer would not fill tried later it started got to spin stop will not empty water tried drain and spin button still wont run help thank you happy hoildays joe thomas

Suds detection & long drain error codes indicate a problem with the water draining out or too much soap is being used. If the unit is not draining good then I would suspect a problem with the pump or control board. Please see the images provided for more details. Press stop twice to reset the control.

This model of washer does not have an out of balance cut off switch. If the load is not balanced properly the tub could hit the cabinet sides. If the unit spins evenly while empty & out of balance while loaded, I recommend checking & balancing the load. If the basket spins out of balance while empty, I recommend having the suspension springs & balance ring checked. Be sure not to wash light fabric with heavy fabric clothes. Also ensure that the adjustable feet are level, that's most important.

I have a Sears Kenmore washer that sometimes does not spin in the spin cycle and sometimes it does. The timer progresses to stop, but clothes are still dripping wet. Resetting timer from spin usually...

The transmission in this machine is worn and is not shifting correctly. Understand that after the aggitate cycle, this machine should go into drain cycle without spinning and it should drain for about 1 minute. Then it should kick into spin cycle after it has emptied all the water. What is happening is it is (like skipping) the drain cycle and going directly into spin with water still in it,,, so the spin is slow as it is trying to empty and spin at the same time,,, thus the clothes do not spin out correctly,,, when you reset the spin, you actually spin all the water out the second time around.
