Question about Intermatic T101 - 24 Hr. Dial Time Switch - NEMA 1 Indoor Steel Case - Gray
I have not used this since Sept. 2012 and I noticed the switch was in the "On" position when I looked in the box to investigate the loud clicking noise it was making. I flipped the switch to the "Off" position and the noise did not stop. I went ahead and plugged my water heaters for the chickens up to it, but I am a little scared that something might be unsafe. Should I turn the whole breaker off to cut the power from this and get it looked at or is it ok to use it? Sincerely, Concerned

Turn power off, and spray highly flammable WD40 vapor onto timer parts.

Apply bit of white grease to motor gears.
Treat timer as any other electrical appliance and keep timer door closed to protect agains fire hazard.
