Question about HP Compaq Presario SR1500NX (PX786AA) PC Desktop
I have a Compaq Presario Sr1500Nx desktop. We have had numerous short power outages recently which have shut the computer down. When I turn it back on, the mouse pointer is frozen in the center of the desktop and will not move, but the keyboard still works. I have to reboot in safe mode and use the keyboard to do a system restore. I have run diagnostics on the mouse and it checks out OK. This same problem seems to occur when I add new software or hardware. I am running Windows XP SP3 and Spyware Doctor antivirus.I also have 1G of RAM.
Tried a different mouse? Maybe the power outage fried it. pc2 mouse?
If it the wirring is fried or the mother board for the mouse is fried then you could purchase a USB mouse if you have an available port.
Finally download the mouse driver and reload it first. Any more questions please ask. Thanks
