LCD monitor problem

We bought our laptop about 15 months ago. Just recently the LCD has started to flicker from time to time, then at some point it will just go to a state where it will have grey and white horizontal stripes of varying width. Some times the screen will go back to normal from this state and some times not. I have not tried any steps to resolve this other than restarting the computer.

how can we locate an LCD cable, I'd really appreciate any help, I have the same the problem and it drives me crazy.

-   I have the same problem, Mine happens when I start my laptop and once in a while will happen when moving the screen. I know it needs to be taken in I would like to know what an appropriate charge to fix the LCD cable would be?

What you described sounds like a loose LCD cable inside. Does it flicker or have video distortion when it's moved?
