Ink Cartridge Problem!

I purchased a new print cartridge and installed it but now the printer won't operate. I've already checked to see if I inserted it properly which I have. What should I do now?

    That was the first thing I did! I just unplugged the printer and restarted it, and in the end it worked out. Thanks for the reply!

How do I make a test page for my printer to check color.


You need to clarify :
1. Your printer cannot print color even though it prints color well from a test page;
2. Your printer cannot print color in a test print page.

If it is the first one, then you have to set it properly in Window Print Configuration page of that printer;
If it is the second one, then you have to check whether you have installed the color ink cartridge properly in the printer. If the color ink cartridge is installed properly, try to replace another new color ink cartridge. Finally it is still not work, then you have to bring back to the repair center.

I have a lexmark x1240 and just installed a new cartridge. I keep getting an error message that says " print cartridge missing" install print cartridge even though both cartridges are in the printer.


If you insert the old cartridge, does it recognize it? If it does, then it's a problem with the new cartridge. Try to check if you already have taken out the protective tapes out of the cartridge.

If it still doesn't recognize the old cartridge, then it's a problem with the printer.

I've installed a new ink cartridge for my lexmark x2500 and I did not receive a prompt to run a test and now my printer will not print. what can I do?


Check that the cartridge is properly i9nstalled. Unplug unit for about 5 minutes. Plug back in, it should re-boot and work.

You could try to remove and reinstall your color cartridge again.Do a Clean Cartridges cycle.Then do an Align Cartridges cycle.

I've installed color cartridge but it won't print in color


Try to re-insert the color cartridge into the printer and make sure it is properly seated in the cartridge carrier.
If that doesn't help, try to clean the print nozzles. Please follow the steps below:
1. Press Copy. 2. Press Options until Maintenance appears on the display. 3. Press the right arrow until Clean Cartridges appears on the display. 4. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles. 5. Print your document again to verify that your print quality has improved.

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....


I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

It is obvious that you have already checked to make sure that the cartridges are both correct when you purchased them. Double check this out and make sure they are installed properly take them out and re insert them again. See what this does for you. If nothing works purchase another cartridge because these are electronic it may just be a bad cartridge that is not working properly. This is how I would go about it. Thanks for using FixYa! I need your help my printer quit printing, I was low on ink and it quit printing after I printed a page. I changed cartridges and it still would not print, so I swapped cartridges with a different printer...


So it prints the self test (test page) or not?

If nothing is printing from at all (printer moves likes it is printing when in operation, but no ink hitting paper) there may be a blockage on the jets or the information is not getting to the printer properly if these same cartridges work on another printer.

I would lift lid and carefully check each one and wipe with a thin cloth the remove any clotted ink and dirt.

You have already reinstalled the drivers, but I would get the latest ones you can from www.hp.com

Finally I would cold reset the printer - usually holding the go button pressed in while hitting the power button on and off - will reset rthe calibration and give you a better chance of fixing.

Also if you have the cartridges for the wrong model, they may physically fit in, but the chip on the cart will tell the printer theres a problem and won;t print.

Summary:

- Check cartridges - off the top of my head (please check!) you should be using HP 45 for Black and HP 68 for Colour (if using a different brand, fine but the numbers are thee same)
- Download latest drivers
- Cold reset printer and install again

Printer wont print


the new cartridge which you have installed are not detecting by the printer.
either they are faulty or they are not inserted in the printer properly.
also check whether the new cartridges you had installed are of same number as you were using before for printing.if it looks same but the number is different then it will not support.
.
just power OFF the printer remove all the external wires connected to the printer from its back.remove the power cord from the electrical outlet.wait for 1 minute.then reconnect all the wires firmly and properly at their respective places and then check .it may work.
