Screen resolution is set incorrectly, don't get proper res (1200 x 800) when trying to change.

Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system. also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of colour range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi Normal , Larger or Custom settings.
always click APPLY after making any changes
windows 7 Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization. Click Window Colour and Appearance. Under Window Colour and Appearance, click the colour you want, and then click OK. Note If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Colour and Appearance window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the colour scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero. Hope this helps.

When I try to run rise of nations game on win7 64bit , I get an error saying game cannot play in 256 colours need 16bit or higher .Even though I have 32 bit mode

The game is Very low resolution game which can only be played in Win xp and below widow. And your configuration is too high for the game thats why it can't be played.

Toshiba 7140CT laptop only recognizes 65000 kb of new 250gb hdd when started with FDisk

An nice old machine!
If I recall correctly, FDISK low level formats partitions and I don't think the new hard drive will accept it without struggling. The bios on the mother board will not accept a drive as large as 250Gb as they didn't exist when the Bios was made.
Try partitioning as you require and format either FAT16 or FAT32 with another machine and see if it will accept it. I think the Bios was restricted to 6Gb drives so you may need to set up a lot of partitions!

Hope this helps.

Toshiba Portege 7200 i try to fomat it it does no format why

Windows won't as a rule allow format of an older system onto a newer system, it goes into protect mode.
If you are trying to format the laptop with say XP and you have XP with SP3 installed, because SP3 is newer than XP it will try to stop you from destroying the newer system. Matbe you are running out of space?

In settings, I want to change from low colour to high clour 32 bit. Because everything is visible in blurred state. Windows XP.

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please do the following

1) Right click on the desktop
2) Left click on properties
3) On Display settings windo that will open up please click on the tab entitled 'settings'

Inside this tab there will be a option to change the colour resolution and colour quality (i.e. 16 bit, 32 bit etc)

If the screen is in a blurred state you may also need to change the screen resolution

I hope this helps.

Nvidia 8600m gt graphic issue

Hi,
Whats the Operating System? XP? Have you downloaded & installed an updated driver? Sometimes the software driver corrupts & you should install the newest version from the website.

If you can get an external monitor, plug it into the external monitor port.. (most laptops have one) There will be a keyboard combination to switch between your laptop screen & the external monitor. This will help diagnose the fault. What is the results of the above? Rgds,
