I need a system wipe and reload disc for dell b120 laptop

HI if you need a recovery disc in that case you will have to call dell and ask for the disc it may cost you around $12 or if you have a recovery partition in the computer you can access it and do the same thing for free in xp it works by pressing Ctrl + F11 on startup and then select dell factory image restore and if you have vista you can access it by pressing F8 on startup then select repair your computer and then sign in and select dell factory image restore.

Lucent cellpipe 20A usb modem

Hi all,

I was having the same problem with Alcatel Lucent Cellpipe modem with Vista. But now its working fine on my system. Just follow the simple steps below and you can get ur internet up and running.

1. Go to www.etisalat.ae > Customer Support > Downloads and Useful links > Modem drivers> Alcatel Lucent 20 A

2. Download and save the file on your desktop.

3. Extract all files.

4. Go to your computer's C drive > Windows > System32.

5. Copy the file "GsiDi32.dll" (DSL installer) and paste it in the folder of the downloaded modem driver. If it asks to replace, click on Replace the file.

6. Connect your modem to the computer and make sure the USB light is on.

7. Ignore the Found new hardware wizard and go to the folder where you saved the downloaded driver files.

8. Run setup.exe.

9. If it gives a dialog box of Missing Entry, just click OK and proceed with the instructions of the setup.

10. Your inetrnet will work fine once you enter your username and pwd.

Hope it works for you all.

Best of luck..

Setting up my HOME network! HELP!!!

Sounds like something is not right with the sharing... Assuming that computer 1 (the computer with the printer) is sharing and everything is set correctly, I would change the workgroup name. Instead of using "MSHOME" use say some basic word like "example" or some other name.

Ironically for my workgroup here I call it "StarWars"

needless to say my printers and everything shares just perfect. When you use "MShome" there's restrictions on what XP professional and XP home machines see on the network. I changed the workgroup name and that solved that problem.

Be sure to put all computers on the same workgroup name that you pick. You can even choose your first name if you want.

Internet sharing

Hi, Could be done. On the Dell XP - 1. Activate your Internet Connection Sharing. Go to Control Panel, Click on Network Connections, right click on your Local Area Connection, Properties, Advanced tab, check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection. In Home networking connection, choose "Local Area Connection", OK; 2. Back to General settings, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, tick Use the following IP address: IP address 192.168.0.1, Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Default gateway 192.168.0.1, if you know ITT DNS use them otherwise tick "Obtain DNS server address automatically." You have to connect the DellXP with the DellVista using a crossover networking cable. On the Dell Vista- 1. In your Network Connections, right click on your Local Area Connection, Properties, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, tick Use the following IP address: IP address 192.168.0.2, Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Default gateway 192.168.0.1, if you know ITT DNS use them otherwise tick "Obtain DNS server address automatically." The above method will also work with peer to peer wireless networking. It might also facilitate connection if you enable auto-detect proxy settings in your browser. There are other methods. This is also better explained at Microsoft support Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turns up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
