SOURCE: Saeco Espresso machine - Empty drip tray (all the time)

Clarification: It complains constantly. Even when I empty the drip tray, which is already empty, put it back in (empty) - it still wants me to "empty the drip tray" again. Sometimes - if I'm lucky - I can brew 1 espresso before it wants me to empty the drip tray.
Thank you for your assistance!

SOURCE: Saeco Magic De Luxe type SUP012 r Water leakage into brew unit

The amount of water you are describing is more than I would expect from normal depressuring at the end of the brew cycle. On your machine a leaking steam valve will frequently drain into the drip tray. If you see water driping in the area of the coffee spout, then the valve is likely leaking.

The best way to confirm this or find the source of the leak is to take the top off the machine and operate it so that you can look inside during brewing. Parts diagrams are available at http://www.saecooutlet.com/partsdiagrams.aspx. You can obtain the parts from Saeco or one of their service centers. If you need further assistance you can email john@uncommoncoffee.com.

Good luck

SOURCE: Empty Drip Tray message

Try to clip off the tray contacts and clean behind them. If they are dirty and wet on the backside the machine will keep asking you for Empty tray. Use a small screwdriver and clip them off from the inside of the tray

Saeco energica is half way through descaling cycle but is getting stuck how do I reset

Thoroughly clean the drip tray before putting it back may help. If there is still coffee inside which is wet the sensor may see this as water which is still in the drip tray.

I was descaling my exprelia coffee machine.i was asked to empty the coffee grounds unit and the drip tray. I did that and the message keeps appearing. I even turned the machine on and off. Help.

  1. Thoroughly clean the small overflow area in the drip tray. Once the drip tray gets full water flows over a small rim into this small separate part thus triggering the sensor that tells that the drip tray should be emptied. Its waals may get a bit fatty/dirty, and so remains wet and keeps triggering the sensor.

Barista supremo thinks it doesn't have coffee beans

http://www.espressotec.com/media/downloads/57/SA1260_Odea_Giro_plus_manual.pdf The red light comes on, doesn't it? The light indicates that the water tank could be empty or the drip tray is full. Tell the coffee machine that it has enough beans, but to please the machine you will fill the water tank and empty the drip tray. Good luck, kolbrun

Empty drip tray message

On the bottom of the machine attached to the drip tray is a sensor that "sees" liquid. If there is no liquid thgere, clean the sensor, if there is, empty the tray!

Gaggia accademia displays empty grounds drawer and drip tray. This message will not go away despite emptying the trays?

It could be that the connectors on the drip tray need scrubbing with a wire brush or replacing.

It says driptray full, but it isn't? Any ideas?

Wevhave had ours into the shop four times for the erroneous 'coffee grounds' and drip tray' emptying. They have changed the mother board, chip in the door and even looked at the head gasket and carburettor settings but can't find the source of the problem.
What we have found latelt (it's Christmas so everything is closed for a month) is if we leave it overnight without power, 3 out of 4 times it resets itself.
It's apain if it plays up during the day but mornings brings us a good cuppa more often than not.lesson-get a deLonghi next time, this Saeco brand is more trouble than they are worth.

Saeco Espresso machine - Empty drip tray (all the time)

aye that is true if you click the coffe making button directly after you have had it out you will be able to make a cup, as the machine has a 2 second response time.

Ok here is what i think:
As it registers the driptray I dont think its the sensor to it.
More i would think that its the CPU card that is not responding to that its clean.

I am sry but I have to ask this:
When it says emptie the driptray are you actually taking out the container that is located under the brewing unit, and not the "drip tray" were you put the coffe mugs?

Also when i think i have a sensor problem I allways take out everything. Brewing unit, dripwater container, dregbox, and the watercontainer. and have it out for atleast 2 minutes ( clean it under the mean time) and put it back again.

As I dont have the machine infront of me i cant be certain:)
