Teac A-5300 reel to reel service manual

Reel to reel only records in one channel. Playback in right and left channel is fine. Any ideas? I need a Teac A-5300 reel to reel service manual. Anyone have one or know where I can get one free.

Try Hi Fi Engine first and then owner-manuals.com and the best solution is from stereomanuals.com which is where I get my manuals.

No, that would require slowing the capstan or making its diameter smaller for the rpms it turns now. Sorry.

SOURCE: I have a TEAC 3340 reel to reel recorder and

In short, no. if you look closely you will see the Teac 3340 has a much larger/thicker capstan shaft than other Teac reel decks. This feature allows the faster tape speeds...7 1/2 and 15 ips. In order to slow down the Teac 3340 you would have to change the flywheel to one from another deck that was made to run at 3 3/4 and 7 1/2. Which is possible but some work..plus you would have to find a slower speed flywheel from another Teac deck. Also to maintain performance, the bias and Eq positions for the slower speeds would have to be readjusted from 7 1/2 and 15.

It should be found as a Pdf file on Hi FI Engine or for $5.00 at owners-manuals. com as these places usually have the common manuals.

Reel recorder

The A4070G can record in each direction but has a switch that needs to change to switch the heads. This must be stuck after all this time and so the deck needs service. They are not easy unit to work on. I have one in my shop now. The bad news is that they use combo record and erase Ferrite heads that can not be sourced anymore.
I am very familiar with this model as I worked at Teac and fixed many of them.

Right Side Playback Very Low

First check your connections. Then playback a known good recording. That way you'll figure out if is the machine has issues with the playback or not. If that is no good then too then clean the playback heads and check it. Then try swapping out your cables or using different jacks on your amp. If the payback is good then clean the record head with a Q-tip and alcohol. Then try a new recording and check it. If it still is no good then invest in a demagnetizer, but use it sparingly. Also it could be that the record level knob is not making a good connection. Put some headphones on (connected directly to it) to hear the recording and try moving it back and forth. If you hear some static, it may have oxidation building up. Deoxidation spray does wonders. And if none of that does the trick, you will likly have to take it in and get the preamps replaced. Good luck.

How do I connect a teac ax-20 mixdown panel to a teac a-3340s reel to reel?

It's a 4-in, 2-out panel. Well, you attach up to 4 INPUT channels (labeled plainly on it) and run the two output channels to any two of the the Record In connectors on the Tape Deck.

http://freeservicemanuals.info/en/servicemanuals/viewmanual/Sony/TC200 Go here. when the page opens, click on the TC200 to download the service manual. There are 3 tubes and one transistor in each channel. Test the tubes first. They fail with age. You can still get tubes. You just have to google the tube number to find a seller.

Capstan motors of Teac X7 rotate only manually (very stiff)

Allied electronics still has these small motors. They probably won't have the same part numbers though. You will need the printed information from the motor as well as accurate dimensions for an accurate comparison.
Good Luck.
