Question about Omega Trane Furnace Draft Inducer Blower 115 Volt Variable Speed Fasco # A190

Open Question

I recieved a replacement inducer blower for a trane HVAC (gas) unit. The new blower has 3 wires plus ground (red,white,black). Apparently this is a 2 speed motor. Can I use this motor somehow. It is getting very cold after 2 days of waiting for the part.

I have a Trane gas furnace with White Rodgers 50A50-474 board is flashing a 2 flash code which is a system lockout-no flame/Check line polarity message. The furnace blower contines to run, but the gas...

Sounds like your ignitor is bad, not lighting the gas. If this happens 3x, then controler goes into lockout and induced draft motor continues to run to extract the gas fumes as a safety.
Either replace the HSI (Hot Surface Ignitor) or sand down the end of the electronic spark ignitor and it's ground rod (they work like an exposed spark plug) to remove the carbon buildup on it so it can spark again. All with the power off, of course!

Leviton three way has two red, one black plus ground. Old switch one each,white,black red. What goes where.

Typically in three way residential switching the Red and White are used as travelers from 3 way to 3 way. That in mind, connect the black to black, red to one red and the other red to the white. mark the white wire with black tape.

Furnace won't stay lit

Are your air filters relatively new? Is a bird nesting in your units combustion air exhaust pipe? Does your draft inducer motor run before and after the gas has ignited? Check and confirm these 3 things first. Good Luck!

Helping a friend install a new unit... he has 3 wires where we took out the old unit (the old unit had 4 wires) .. the (source) 3 wire is black, white & bare.... the old and new unit have black, red,...

Hello,

I suspect on teh wiring from the house the black&white will be the hot wires and the bare will be ground/neutral

use a volt meter before connecting tonew cooktop and check for;
black/bare to have 120volts
white/bare to have 120volts

if that is what you find...connect new cooktop as such;

black to black
red to (house) white

(cooktop) white and green to bare

How do you wire a 3-wire timer switch (white, black, red) to replace a single light switch to a front door light?

You have a 3 wire in-wall timer.
Colors red black white

You are replacing single pole switch that has 2 wires (plus ground, we'll ignore ground for now)

So switch has 2 wires:
1 switch wire goes to Load/lights > this wire connects to timer red wire
1 switch wire is Hot from breaker > this wire connects to timer black wire
When finished, if lights do not turn on, then reverse red and black wires.

Timer white wire powers clock inside timer.
To complete circuit to clock, white wire is connected to neutral wires.
Located in back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut.
These wires are neutral, connect timer white wire to these wires.

If box does not have neutral wires described above, connect timer white to bare ground wire.

HVAC Blower Motor Replacement

Ain't nothing to it. Slide out the blower and take it outside. Use some rust buster to get the blower out. Don't beat on the shaft. Spread that shaft and the wheel won't come off. Use a rubber mallet. Most generic blowers have white as a common wire and the speeds are black-hi blue med and red, for low. 2 brown wires will go to the capacitor. other wires will reverse direction. Wash the housing and blower wheel good. any wire unused will be taped off to themselves. Nothing to it.

I would get an electrician or an HVAC tech to hook up this unit ,you do not want to get electricuted or blow up the unit it will cost you more to replace the unit if you blow it up that to get the proper person. REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST.

In a three wire system you have 2 hot wires (black and red) and a neutral (white). the ground is connected to the neutral at the dryer. In a 4 wire system you have the 2 hot wires, neutral, and a ground. (green). The ground is connected with the neutral at the circuit panel. The hot wires at the dryer should be on the outside scres, the neutral should be in the center and the ground should be under the green screw. *****. .
