Question about Makita 12 Volt Cordless Drill/Driver Kit
NEED WIRING SCHEMATIC FOR TROUBLE SHOOTING
The DC1290A charges 9.6 volt and 12 volt batteries. I have found two problems that occur causing problems. First is cold solder joints on the pc board. Second is a possibly bad SCR that's bolted to that standup aluminum bracket. The original parts is a type T106D1 which crosses to either an NTE 5457 or NTE 5458 replacement. Watch out when removing the pc board from the top case. The little blue microswitch actuator which moves when a battery is inserted can fall out. Also when reassembling the pc board into the top case, be sure the thermistor slides into it's "pocket" before fully seating the circuit board.

Makita generally does not provide a schematic for the charger wiring. The only parts that are usually replaceable are the cord and housings and possibly a fuse. If this is an older charger I would look for a "cold solder joint" I fixed quite a few for this and one component breaking loose. I dont know if Makitausa website can help or not. What volt is this charger, I have a couple in my garage that I can look at also
