Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Sounds like it is going into Sleep or Hibernation mode.
In Control panel go to Power options and see what the settings are.
Getting out of sleep mode is accomplished by pressing the power button once.

My dell inspiron 1525 keeps turning off and shutting down without me doing anything. why?

The computer has a cpu fan that can get dirty over time. It's job is to keep the cpu cool. When the cpu overheats, the computer senses it and shuts it down immediately, to prevent permanent damage to the cpu. You can clean it by blowing compressed air into it, and should do that every few months, as routine maintenance. This is the most common thing that shuts a laptop down, other problems involve repair, so try this first. I bough a $7 three inch fan at Walmart to help cool the laptop, and when I run it, I never have it shut down on me, but once in awhile it will without the fan, especially when I play dvds or videos, which really work th' heck out of the cpu. There are also commercial laptop cooling devices, but my little fan works just fine. Hope this helps.

Open the "Task Manager" by (right ) click in the Statusbar, located in the same (level as the start button). Next see how many Processes are running? If the (number) of processes running are between 75-80, the Computer is running very slow, this could be a ("Low") Memory problem, you can check the "memory usage" in the "Task Manager" as well. Try to "Shut-down Non-essential programs from "start-up."

My computer starts to load windows, then loses all power,

Does the same thing happen when you try to load the BIOS. (press keep pressing F2 when you turn on the computer). If it happens while the computer is in the BIOS window then its your power supply that is fried.

It does sound like the power supply is fried though. In which case the laptop will need to be taken in for service.

While the computer is booting up you should be able to hit F8 repeatedly and be offered the option to boot into safe mode. This will allow you to access your files.

Since the computer is already slow, I would back up these files to a thumb drive and just reformat using restore disks if you have any. If you don't let me know and we can explore further.

For the issue of BSOD of Unmountable Boot volume, the only solution so far is to reinstall the system. If you are unaware of how to do it, it would be easier to contact Dell technical support and allow them to guide you thru it. (if your warranty is active, it's free)

My computer keeps shutting down.

Yes.... that is exactly what is hapening...
Try Cleaning out the laptop for starters...
(i recommend getting someone who is experienced)
The Fans Need to be cleaned.. the Heat Sink(s) need to have their Fins cleaned out... and I would Replace the Thermal Paste on your Processor Chip with High Temp Silver Thermal Paste instead of the typical **** they throw on it..

then another good idea is to look for a 3rd party Fan Controller for your laptop if you are a gamer, it allows you to run your fans when you choose and keep them on if you choose, which would help with cooling your laptop while gaming...
