LCD-TV with no coaxial input

I have a Olevia 19" LCD-TV (monumental waste of money, by the way) w/o a coaxial input. The TV is the 2nd on a dual-tv cable box, and so the only cable available to hookup is coaxial. I finally got it to work by using the AV Show 242 modulator. This device was such an unbelievable hassle to program, that I vowed that someday I'd find a better way. That day has come - one year later and the module has stopped working! Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Hi!

You need to buy a RF Coaxial to 3RCA converter to use it with your tv. You can buy it from---

http://www.antonline.com/p_42089-NX_490612.htm
or from

Thanks

Ambry which advertises a "Coax Cable TV to RCA Video Audio Demodulator" for $80.

Another possible solution is for the two different inputs on coax is put 1 of them straight into the tv via the coax connector, the other coax cable would go thru a VCR. Most VCR\'s are usually equipped with RCA outputs (the better ones have both right (red) and a white (left) sound connectors), all have the Yellow (video) output. The cheaper ones have just the video and 1 output which with a combiner adapter cable will give a simulated stereo to the tv. At least that way the tv can be programmed for certain channels, you switch the tv\'s inputs via the remote control to the input source (the vcr) and use the vcr\'s remote to get the other channels, assuming you programmed the vcr correctly. Try it you might like it!

Hope this helps.Good Luck.-->

You cannot use RG 59 coax to input the monitor - except for an antenna connection. You really should place the tv near the vcr and dvd player so that cables that come with the units can be used.

I don't recommend converting the rg coax to signal coax as they are totally different capacitance. And you should not run outputs from a dvd player or vcr for more than about 10 feet unless you use special rf amplifiers to prevent losses.

Coax signal is analog. The only way to connect it to one of the inputs you have on this TV was using a converter , like the one you have.

The alternative is replacing the cable box.

Where is the coaxial output on the LT-2722 twenty-seven inch LCD TV from Norcent

Many new TV's do not have a standard coaxial input anymore. The industry has moved on from that and you might have to get an external tuner to get an input like that. I found an old review from 2006 and it shows the antenna input on the bottom side where the power cord plugs in. http://www.geek.com/xyzcomputing/norcent-lt-2722-27-inch-lcd-tv-571351/

How do you hook up cable box using coaxial in hdmi out

If your cable box has an HDMI OUT connector you simply connect the HDMI cable to the TV and the coaxial cable from the cable company to the coaxial input on the cable box. Then select the HDMI input on the TV that matches the number of the HDMI input port you chose on the back of the TV.

I have a customer on the phone who has a olevia flat screen and can not locate an input for his cable wire. where are they located?

here are the only signal inputs located at the back of the tv.
1 x HDMI input ( 19 pin HDMI Type A )
2 x component video input ( RCA phono x 3 )
1 x VGA input ( 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) )
Audio line-in ( RCA phono x 2 )
2 x S-Video input ( 4 pin mini-DIN )
2 x composite video/audio input ( RCA phono x 3 )
1 x headphones ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm )
1 x SPDIF output ( TOS Link )
1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono x 2 )
1 x subwoofer output ( RCA phono )
1 x serial

If you are looking for a coaxial cable input.. it is actually not available so you have to connect a converter from coax cable to RCA cable for you to connect it on your tv.

How to hook updvd player to tv set

if the dvd player has hdmi connection use that.
if the TV has hdmi input use that.

if you can do both of these then use the TV remote to switch input to hdmi when the dvd player is on.

as an extra you can use toslink optical or coaxial digital cable from TV to home theater receiver for surround sound.

Insignia NS-LCD19 is not producing a picture

You might need to change the input on the TV. I'm almost certain that it will have a DVI and Coaxial input among others.

Check the monitor for an input button or pull up the menu and see if there is different input selector.

I have an Olevia 23t lct hd tv. I am plugged in

you said you are using composite cables..? that means you have some kind of cable box ? if you want to get HD channels you have to use a HD box that is supplied by the cable company.. the HD cable box then has to connect to the tv with component cables (green, blue, red cables) or HDMI cable.. to send the HD signal to the television.
