You might need to fit screen . Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system. Also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal , larger or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes. Right click in the top toolbar you will see a number of toolbars and options select the menu tab this will add to the Toolbar File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help On the top of the internet page you should see some tabs file edit view favorites tools and help Click on the view tab on the drop down list you should see a zoom % and full screen option. Click a different percentage also a text you might try a different text although this will not increase the of the page only the text fonts inside it
There might be a menu button on the monitor where you can adjust reduce / expand the screen s usually located on the underside of the monitor of course this will depend on your brand of monitor.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Wallpaper only, no icons or programs available for use or viewing

extending ur desktop means creating an extra monitor-space to strech ur desktop width, which means you can actually see your mouse pointer waving throught both screens when u slide it. If you want to have the same display on monitor 2 as with monitor 1, you should choose the option 'clone' to display identical items on two screens. If the option is not available in your software then maybe you can download a third party software from download.com or something to have it done.

I have a 19in Emerson Flat Screen TV that I am using as a PC Monitor and it isn't using the full screen. How do I fix it to use the whole screen?

You might not be able to. If the screen size doesn't adjust with the wide/view mode/picture format button on the television remote control you have to change the resolution on the pc. You right click on an empty spot on the desktop, choose properties, and then choose the settings tab. A lower resolution will cause the image to fill the screen but the icons get really big. The image isn't as refined. However you may be able to play around with it enough to find a good enough resolution and a view mode with the Emerson remote that will work out for you (a combination of the two).

I'm using this as an additional monitor for a HP 10" netbook and the picture is stretched & distorted & doesn't fill screen. The vertical adjustment just moves the whole thing up and remains...

Solution goes this way, to maintain the aspect ratio of the monitor, take note of this. Your HP 10inch notebook have different resolution compare to your additional monitor, But I'm sure you selected the dual view mode or the duplicate mode that is why you have distorted display on your additional monitor, to let the additional monitor decide and maximize its resolution, try using the extended view option, you can change the resolution of your additional monitor without affecting the resolution of your 10 inch laptop.

4.14.1 Understanding Viewing Features
Your LCD HDTV features four viewing modes and Picture-In-Picture (PIP)/Picture-by-Picture (POP) mode.
You can switch viewing modes using the remote control.
4.14.2 Viewing Modes
Normal Mode
The original 4:3 aspect ratio (1.33:1 source) is preserved, so black bars are
added to the left and right of the display image. Standard TV broadcasts are
displayed with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Movies in 4:3 Aspect Ratio may be referred
to as pan-and-scan or full frame. These movies were originally filmed in 16:9
(widescreen), and then modified to fit a traditional TV screen (4:3).
Wide Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full-frame movie in this mode,
the display image is stretched proportionately to fill the TV screen.
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1 source) program or movie, the
display image fills the TV screen. If you are watching a widescreen
(1.85:1 or 2.35:1 source) program or movie, there will still be black
bars at the top and bottom.
Zoom Mode
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1, 1.85:1, or 2.35:1 source)
program or movie, the display image is zoomed proportionally to fill the
width of the screen. The top and bottom are cut off to remove most of
the source material’s black bars. This mode is good for programs or
movies with sub-titles.
Panoramic Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full frame movie in this mode,
the 4:3 Aspect Ratio (1.33:1 source) display image is stretched
horizontally on the left and right sides to fill the TV screen. The center
of the image is not stretched.

Note: Viewing modes are saved based on input. For example, you lasted watched a DVD in widescreen
mode and then watched TV in standard mode. When you switch back to DVD input, the viewing mode
will return to widescreen.
