Question about Coby TFDVD3295 32 in LCD TVDVD Combo
This TV is not brand new, but it is unused, it did this right out of the box, had no time for an RMA, a replacement was needed quick (school setting), that was a year ago or so. The blue standby light comes on when you plug it in, it brightens when you power it up, you see the blue COBY splash screen for about a second, then it screen goes black. DVD player will take a dvd and eject it, havent tried playing a dvd in it since you cant see the screen. pushing the power button, or holding it down will not turn the tv off, you have to unplug it. This tv is essentially unused.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

First do this:

If it doesn't help reset the set to factory settings after resetting the password. To do this:-

[Set parential lock to OFF, and you can set it after resetting the set to factory settings.]

SOURCE: No picture on coby tv
I'm not certain but it sounds like there is a loose video cable in there...if you are able to, take the tv apart, and literally push on all of the connectors and cables to make sure they are not loose. The main video cable may not seem to be loose, but once it is making contact again, it should clear that mess up. Just look for cables running to the main screen and pull them off and put them back. Then put the tv back together again and see if it worked...it usually does. why does this happen? Some blame it on dust, others blame it on quick manufacturing processes...whatever the case, the cables become slightly seperated from the controller board and that happens...it also happens to computer monitors too...Good luck and take your time. If there are a lot of screws and things either take pictures of where they all went or write it down. I like to make a diagram on a piece of paper and tape the screws on the diagram to show where they went.
