SOURCE: low pressure and flow on hot water side of single handle faucet

It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious.

  • Easy fix
  1. Turn off hot water angle stop under sink to faucet.
  2. Remove supply line from hot angle stop.
  3. Place end of supply line in a small bucket to catch some water.
  4. Turn on cold water for a couple of seconds and backflush debris from faucet.
  5. Reconnect supply line.
  6. Turn on angle stop and test
  • Complex fix
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home.

Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.

SOURCE: DELTA MODEL 470-WH LOW WATER FLOW AT KITCHEN FAUCET

This could be a couple of things.

  1. First remove the aerator from the wand and make sure you have plenty of flow with it off.
  2. If there is flow clean or replace the aerator.
  3. Remove the wand and look between the hose connection and the wand there should be a screen between them. Remove the screen and clean or replace.
  4. Make sure hose is kinking under the sink.
If you need a diagram of the faucet with part numbers here is the link:

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: price pfister faucet handle drops and turns off.

Re the 'falling handle' issue, I think you misunderstood the problem, jgwhomeequip. Unfortunately for me I bought *two* similar Price Pfister faucets and both had the same problem - the water wouldn't stay on and the handle just wouldn't stay up.
I took mine apart looking for something to adjust, fruitlessly. Put it back together and have lived with it like that for ~2 years.

Finally I decided to not be a knucklehead any longer and call the manufacturer. Once I got through to their rep (on a Saturday no less!) she helped me identify the model I had (a 533-50SS, just FYI), and asked me 'what finish'? I replied 'stainless steel' and she promptly replied, 'I'm going to mail you out new lighter handles to replace the ones you have'.

Brilliant! Gold star for PP for standing behind their product well past the warranty for what was apparently a common problem. Replacing the handle will take about 10 seconds per faucet.

I only wish I had got of my a$$ and called them 2 years ago.

SOURCE: Adjusting single leaver faucet handle

The little wrench tightens the tension ring that fits on the inside of the retaining nut right under the handle. You fit the little "arms" in the notches.

I have a Moen Ascent kitchen faucet. The chrome handle that is attached somehow to the control valve underneath has come loose. How is the handle attached to the valve and what is the remedy?

Moen kitchen faucet handles in this series are held onto the cartridge stem with a set screw. First turn off the water supply to the faucet. You need to move the handle until you can see the small plug button that covers the set screw. This is ~3/4" from the edge of the handle. Remove the plug with a small screwdriver or other levering tool and adjust the handle if needed to get it on the cartridge stem. Then find the appropriate Allen wrench to tighten the screw. (It may be a 3/32" but this isn't always true.) To test if you have it tight, turn on the water and see if the water is easy to turn on and off. Turn off the water and replace the plug button. Then turn the water one last time.

To see a parts diagram for a couple of models of Ascent faucets, see https://www.moen.com/support/Ascent/Ascent_Chrome_onehandle_high_arc_pulldown_kitchen_faucet/S71708 or https://www.moen.com/support/Ascent/Ascent_Classic_stainless_onehandle_high_arc_pullout_kitchen_faucet/S71709CSL .

I hope this helps.

(Do not over-tighten the set screw. This could damage the cartridge or handle.)

Re: Moen single-lever kitchen faucet like the 7100. When I replace the lever, it only goes up. I can't get it to go down. I'm pretty sure the cartridge is in right, with the U-clip and the other screw-on...

The water supply should have no bearing on the working motion of the faucet cartridge or handle. On both models of Moen faucet, the handle needs to be hooked under the cartridge's top cam bearing. It is a bit tricky sometimes. Here's the parts view for 7300 and 7310 Moen Kitchen faucet. Parts view for 7100 Moen.

I have a moen pull out kitchen faucet that leaks

You have a bad internal o-ring or the sprayer o-ring is leaking, if you look under the sink turn it off and then turn it back on, if you see it leaking out the center shft where the water pipes go into then the faucet may have a broken pipe or loose pipe. check and tell me where it's leaking at. You can buy kits to repiar them they are inexpensive.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.

Kitchen spout leaks

Hi buffy9,

I'm Harvet the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You have an American Standard two faucet in my kitchen and the base of the spout leaks at the base. How do you remove it and replace the washers?

Are we talking about an American Standard two HANDLE faucet or one of the single handle models?

Thank you,
