Question about HP ScanJet 5370C Flatbed Scanner

Open Question

I can no longer scan negatives with my HP 5370C ScanJet. The "Use Transparency Adapter" is checked, but "Photographic Negative" greyed out.

I tried umplugging the XOA, USB cables and power from the scanner, and plugging in the XPA before plugging in the USB and power cables, but the result was the same.

With the scanner you should have received a cd "HP Scanjet 4800 Series HP IMage Zone Software. Mine is version 5.3 for Windows/8.4 for Mac OS v 10.2.
I have this installed on a pc.
When the button on the lid (2nd from left ) is pressed this opens a window HP Scanning.
On this is an option to "Scan Negatives using the TMA (Transparent Materials Adaptor)" Select this and follow any further instructions concerning optons.

Negative scan

The HP web site says the hpscanjet 2400 does not have a transparency materials adapter, so it would seem that you can not scan slide or negatives.

Where do i put the negative to scan on hp g3010 scanner

On the lid there are thin plastic rails that frame two 35mm Negatives. Place the film in that holder, framing what you wish.

Check HP's site for the owners manual for advanced settings for your specific model to get the best results from your Negative or as HP calls it Transparent Materials Adapter (TMA)
