How do i connect my toshiba tecra s1 laptop to my tv.

First you will need a double female ended VGA cable, plug into the blue triangular socket on the lap top and to the same socket on the back of the tv, as long as the tv has a VGA socket you will be ok.
Make sure that the signal source on the tv is set to pc, on the pc right click on the screen to enter the display properties, goto the settings tab, in the settings window at the bottem you will see a slider for the resolution, change the resolution to 800 by 600, on the right you will see the bit setting change this setting to 16bit or 24bit and click apply click ok to keep this setting, restart the laptop, as long as everything is connected correctly when the laptop boots you should see the windows screen on the tv. good luck and i hope this helps.

I have a toshiba satellite m55-s135 and i just bought the cord to hook it up to my LG tv, but when i push input to pc, there is no signal, i have tried fn and f5, but nothing happens. What do i need to do?

Hi, since you connected a "Output Device" a [TV] to your Computer, its become another Monitor; so the Computer is trying to identify another Monitor being connected. This is what you need to do; (right click) on a [empty] area of the Desktop Screen, in the "shortcut" window, select the "Personalize," in the next window which should be the [Personalize and appearance...], select the "Display" applet, and open to the Display Setting window. Now since your "Primary Monitor is the Laptop, the "Secondary Monitor" will be the TV [ Monitor 2], click on the Identify Monitors. Next, once the Computer recognize the TV, click on the "Apply and OK buttons. Note: You may be required to "Restart the Computer for the effect to take properly." If all goes well; give the solution a "Helpful Rating," thanks.

Trying to connect my toshiba satellite a205-s5804 laptop to my sony bravia lcd 1080 t.v. I have connected VGA from laptop to t.v.VGA pc in on t.v..Also headphone out to sound in on t.v.. T.V. not excepting...

Please double check that your VGA cable is working properly and you have installed the most updated version of video drivers.
Is the TV not even playing the sound? Are you on the right channel? Only try checking the sound on a AV channel by using a headphone jack to AV jack cable.
If you have a S-Video port try connecting with it you can get that cable for a buck in a dollar store.
Hope this helps.

Laptop to TV Connection

Check if you are sending the signal to the external monitor. On my laptop with Windows 7, I can right click on an open section of the desktop and choose Graphics Properties. In this window, I can choose to send the display to the laptop's internal monitor, the external monitor or both.
Pressing Crtl-Alt-F1 will force the video onto the external monitor on the fly (Crtl-Alt-F3 goes back to the laptop's screen).

When I have added a second monitor to a desktop, I needed to reboot and allow new hardware to be found before the related Screen Resolution (right click on the desktop again) let me find the second monitor and choose if this was a duplicate or extended screen.

I hope this helps.

Toshiba Satellite A 135 2266 Manual How do I set an output signal to an HDTV level for 1920 horizontal; 1080 vertical? I am getting a no signal response from my HDTV screen.

1.Did you transfer the Display Mode from the laptops LCD screen, to an External Monitor?
You have a 'Hot Key' to do this.
Press the Fn key down, hold it down, then press the F5 key. (I would choose the -> TV Only option)

(If you do not have the User Manual for your Toshiba Satellite A135-S2266, here is Toshiba Support, and the manual,
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1596140&rpn=PSAD6U&modelFilter=A135-S2266&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

I suggest you go up to the right, and click on -> Printer Friendly Version. It will then come up in another window, and it's a PDF file download. Watch the blue loading bar down at the right, and let this file FULLY download, before looking through it)

2.To change the Resolution, start with changing it in Windows.

Right-click on an empty space on your desktop screen. Go down and Left-click on Properties.
In the Display Properties window, Left-click on the -> Settings, tab.

Down on the left you will see Screen Resolution. Write down what it is now. In case you can increase the screen resolution, and it turns out to not be correct, you have the original screen resolution value to return to.

(You Left-click on the slider arrow. HOLD the mouse button down, slide it to the right for increased resolution, to the left for decreased resolution. Once you have the resolution you desire, go down to the right, and click on Apply. Then go down on the left, and click on OK)

Your HDTV also has a guide for changing resolution. I would use care with both the laptop, and the HDTV as, if you change the native resolution too far, (Laptop won't support your change), you'll be looking at a garbled mess.

VGA connection from PC to TV --TV says "no signal"

On the remote control for your television, there should be a source or input button. Pressing the key repeatedly will switch from cable input to standard tv input, to s-video, or ypbr, or game, or various others. Try doing this and see if the image appears, this awlays works for me. If I am telling you something you have already tried, i am sorry!

Toshiba laptop Dual display issue

To switch between screens try pressing the FN key and F5. You should not have to restart you computer. As for the TV error "invalad signal" you might have to change the screen resolution on you computer. You might have to try a few different resolution before you find one your tv accepts.
1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.
2. Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply.
