You may want to contact a BISSELL Authorized Service Center to have a qualified technician inspect your machine.

Here's a quick link to locating one. http://www.bissell.com/service-centers/?cid=ccsocial

There should be a black oblong gasket that sits between the edge of the noozle and the lip of the tank, If it is missing, then you will have to suction there. Also there should be a plastic red filter, mounted on the tank lid, covering the suction port, it it is clogged, then no suction.

With the top cover off, turn it over, put the knob in the water only setting, the piston will fit in the slot (only one way), turn the knob some so it will stay on. Put the cover back on, but just before you push it down, turn the knob to the water only setting again, then push the top cover all of the way down. Turn the knob, you can feel if it is in the chamber or not. If not, it won't turn or be hard to turn.

Push the foot pad handle release on the left side lay the handle all the way back. Then lift the handle on the center bucket pull out and fill with hot tap water only no soap in the hole that fills up the plastic bladder.Flip the handle back down so that it locks the lid on. On the right side is a smaller soap tank just pull it up and unscrew the top and put your soap in it then replace.Set the dial right beside it to either water only ,or high traffic or ,regular. The soap dispenses automatically saving you from having to mix the solution.Turn both switches on and make a forward and back pass holding the trigger release the trigger go over the area just soaped until most of the water is sucked up. The little red circle on the left side is supposed to be turning if the water and soap are being sprayed out.Repeat and have fun

How do I hook up my Bissel Proheat to clean my sofa?

There is a little switch on the side of the machine base that reads "floor cleaning" and "toos or preheat". Switch that to the tools setting and a little flap under the "clearview" shield will lift. Just take the hose off of the little rack and attach one of the cleaning heads. Check that the flap isn't blocked by lint or something. If this doesn't work you may have some other problem.

Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View uses very little soap.

The valve at the bottom of the soap tank may have gone bad, Also try running a mix of water and vinegar(not on carpet) to see if it will clean the system out. The system may just need cleaning out.

Bissell Proheat Clearview water problem

The water comes out the hose at the same time. The diverter only diverts the suction from floor to attachment. If it is constantly spraying there is a problem with the attachment. Is it not spraying on the floor?
