All washing machines have safety interlocks and your Whirlpool is no exception. There are door interlocks that make sure the front door is closed properly (check yours by opening it and pushing it closed), Go on line with the Whirlpool company and request a wiring and device schematic for your machine (if there isn't one glued to an inconspicuous place on one of the panels, probably the back)...Trace it through all the interlocks and see if each is functioning.

SOURCE: F11 CODE on 110.45966400

The ECU is often referred to as the CCU. F11 is Serial Communication Error Between MCU and CCU - Disconnect power and unplug unit. Check wire harness connections to the motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check the drive system for any worm or failed components and reconnect power and plug unit in. Verify CCU is working by performing diagnostic test or any cycle. Check MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor and check drive motor for powered rotations. Also check the motor and wire harness. Replace defective part

SOURCE: The unit works perfect all

Hi

You are right; F21 error code is displayed due to water unable to drain properly. As the drain pump has already been replaced so the issue seems to be more likely with the CCU. F33 error code is a pump drive system error and is displayed when the connection between the pump & the CCU (central control unit) is lost. Before replacing the CCU you can unplug the washer and then check the wire connections to the pump & CCU. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

SOURCE: F28 error plus Diagnostics tests

have you checked the motors 3- phase windings for a short circuits,it sounds as this may be a factor in your problem each lead 1&3/2&3/1&2 should show 6 ohms each when unplugged from the MCU and checked individually, from the burn marks in this area of the MCU I would say the motor winding(s) are shorted, and the rest of the unit is shutting down to protect the new board

This appears to be a problem with the MCU and not the CCU as what has already been found. First, make sure the serial communication connection between the MCU and the CCU is intact, clean, and snug fit. But it seems that you have done all that. The one and simple way to determine whether it is the MCU or CCU is disconnecting the serial communication connection between the two then starting the machine or running the diagnostic test.

The problem is indeed the MCU if the machine seems to work fine with the MCU disconnected except for motor powered functions or the diagnostic test progresses successfully but eventually flashes F28 code (or any other code pertaining to a motor or MCU problem) after the dispenser motor, dispenser contact, hot water inlet valve, and pressure switch test or when the test enters the MCU and motor tests. Replace the MCU then. The problem is the CCU or both if the machine still behaves the same after the MCU is disconnected. Replace the CCU then the MCU if the machine behaves the same after the CCU is replaced. This troubleshooting technique has worked for me all the times the symptoms are like yours and it turned out to be the MCU.

Whirlpool f28 error code and door lock light

For the F28 error code:
First, check the wiring harness connections to the MCU, the Motor, and the CCU. Make sure all the connections are tight and there are no ground wires off. Then check the connections of the CCU board within the housing.

If the wiring connections are fine then It would be a good idea to order both, as both components have been problematic for the error code F28.

I get the F 11 error code on my whirpool duet and then cannot unlock the door. I can get error code to go away, but cannot get the cycle to finish, or a new cycle to start or the door to unlock. My clothes...

The error code F11 means serial communication error between the central control unit (CCU) and the motor control unit (MCU). Either the CCU or the MCU is faulty, but the door lock mechanism is controlled by the CCU and the jamming of the door lock points to the CCU being the culprit. Replace the central control unit (part number 1176592) to fix the problem.

Central Control Unit Replacement Procedure
  1. Remove the three screws at the rear of the machine securing the top panel.
  2. Slide back the top panel then lift it off the machine.
  3. Lift the top plastic tabs of the central control unit (CCU) that are securing it to the back cabinet frame.
  4. Slide the CCU towards the front of the machine and remove it.
  5. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the CCU. Make sure to take note the positions of the connectors.
  6. Connect the wiring harness connectors properly to the new CCU.
  7. Reinstall the CCU in reverse order of the above procedure.
  8. Reinstall the top panel before performing a test run or running the machine.
Manual Door Unlocking Procedure
  1. Lean the washer on its back against the wall.
  2. Remove the lower toe panel by removing the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer.
  3. Reach up along the inside of the right side of the front panel and locate the tear-drop shaped tab and gently pull it down until a click is heard.
  4. You can now open the door.

    Door won't unlock

It is either your door lock mechanism or your CCU (central control Unit) Replace the door lock mechanism first. if thats not it its your CCU.

    My washer will not start

F-01 stands for a CCU problem.

if it is still under warranty, don't touch it. if it is no longer under warranty, then open the unit, check for cables that are loose in connections, pull them out and inspect every plug of the ccu. that is the control unit.
    test it again.

if F-01 would appear again, then you have to replace the CCU board.

Whirlpool Duet Washer GHW9150PWO Have F11 and DL errors. Have replaced the door lock 2 x and still have same error messages.

Well du is a door lock error but it can also mean an error with communication to the main control board or ccu. f11 is also a communication error in either the ccu or the mcu ( motor control board)......easiest thing to try is to unplug all your connections to the ccu and plug them back in and try it again.....sometimes a wire harness just may be loose....if that dosent work I would look at replacing the ccu ( central control unit )
