Tefal Quick Cup

I have been using my new kettle for approx 3 weeks and the red light has suddenly started flashing, so I purchased a new filter but its still flashing. Any idea?

Hi, I bought a tefal quick cup over the xmas period, the red light has just started flashing, assuming this meant the filter needed changing, I have replaced the filter but the light is still flashing. Maybe somebody who wasn't daft enough to throw away the instructions could please help. Also, does anybody know what the dial of numbers at the top of the filter is for?

I have found the same problem, i know they say change when empty but other wise its the same, the numbers on the filter are so you can tell how long its lasting between replacements (if you chang it b4 putting it in)

ALERT :- Tefal Quick Cup can TURN IT SELF ON. Tefal know about this but it is a potential fire hazard. Mine turned itself on and dispensed the water reservoir over my kitchen. Dread to think if I had been out shopping what could have happened. Tefal know about this problem but are not doing anything to advertise the fault!!

Did you ever find a cure for this problem or did Tefal help ?
    Mine does the same.

Tefal were reluctant to do anything initially! They offered foe me to return for repair at my cost. Then they offered a replacement but this all took ages. And why would I want a replacement that could do the same thing again. Consumer confidence I guess. ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK!! The biggest let down for me was that the machine never got the water hot enough for tea - ok for coffee.

Mine has started doing this too - basically it just went on and stays on whenever it's powered up, really odd and worrying. Not hot water but still. Funny burning smell too coming from the machine, I've unplugged and have only had it for a year. Really annoyed.

If you are in a hard water area you may need to descale the heater element. Try adding 1 cup vinegar to 3 cups water and run the machine should clear up the scale. Rinse thoroughly before use.

Just bought a tefal quick cup from john lewis and we have lost the instructions, could you tell me how to turn the blue light off on the top when you change the filter . thank you.

Follow this procedure when you change the filter:

Press the hot water button H and the ambient water button G, for at least 5 seconds.

After 5 seconds, the indicator light will go out. The appliance will then have recorded the cartridge change.

If you are happy with my response pease vote for this answer.

Thanks

Hello tefal quick cup water is no longer hot only

we had to return our first one for the same problem Gavin. Tefal (surprise surprise) claimed that nobody else had EVER had that problem. 2 years down the track though, and i've discovered that mine turns itself on at random intervals, and floods the kitchen bench. My advice - get a refund while you still can...

Tefal quickcup problem. now only getting 1/3 of a cup of hotwater from one press of red button. same results without filter

To reset the volume of water you just need to hold the red button till you fill the cup to your desired level. This will reset the auto fill function and next time you will get a full cup.
