My partener has dropped her new mobile and the screen is cracked preventing any visibility what so ever on the display, causing difficulties on all levels and preventing the use of all functions when using the phone. It accepts calls and if dialing a number it will connect thus so far, but you can't see what buttons you are pressing.. could you please advise me where I can get it repaired, how, and how much I am to expect to pay for this repair, or whether because I have just upgraded my plan and recieved these two phones (account is in my name) I am able to be covered under a warrantee of any kind.
thankyou for your help,
You would just have to replace your screen, this not very expensive and will do the job.
The warranty will probely not cover this because it is not the fault of the proper functioning of the devise.
You can either get it fixed by your service provider with you paying for this or you can go to your local repair service the price for both should range in similar cost .Be care full because if you fix it not by the service provider you might loose the warranty. This depends on the contract policy.

Has it ever gotten wet? If so, replace the phone. If you did drop it in the past it may have loosened the display connector which has finally come loose. A qualified repair shop can disassemble the phone and re-seat the connector. Also, hold the phone at various angles to the light and look for a crack in the screen. If it is cracked then most likely you'll need a new LCD assembly ... this is the "glass" on top of the LCD display. The "glass" is actually a digitizer that converts your touch to information that the phone can understand. Generally speaking, you can expect to pay around $100 for a repair shop to install a new display module. One other possibility .... if you installed the most recent software/firmware update from Apple it is not uncommon for the phone to go into some kind of hibernation mode. Try plugging the phone into your computer using the USB cable. The phone should at the very least beep, acknowledging that it is charging. With luck, your computer should recognize the phone and start iTunes. At this point hold the power button for as long as you can stand and see if the "start-up" apple appears in the screen. This might bring the phone back to life.
chech if the contact to the display has been cut. This you can confirm by noticing whether the display atleast lights up any way. if it does not there may be a disconnection between power supply to your display. Also check of cracks on the screen. if there are cracks you may have to change the screen. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU
You don't have to drop your phone to crack / break the screen. This problem is almost certainly caused by a crack screen. This can be easily repaired by taking your phone to the local repair shop and getting the LCD replaced.
Depending on where you live and who you know you can get this done for $50 - $100 in North America.
