I take it you have no remote? or your remote isn't working?
If you have no remote you can get them online or through hardware stores for your model player, failing that many programmable multi remotes are available that will give you most functions. If local stores fail Check ebay!

As for controlling it without a remote i would need to know the bluray player model number. but if you have the manual and the player has a USB socket check to see if a standard USB keyboard/mouse is compatible.

Another alternative; if you have it connected to a home network there are mobile phone aps to let you control it.

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR- EA18 DVD player/recorder - Remote control Problem

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

DVD Player Quick Connect Tips

There has been a lot of confusion lately about how best to connect your new DVD or Blueray player to your TV set. For many this has been a nightmare since the introduction of the new Component and HDMI versions of Higher Priced DVD and Blueray disc players.

Remember that your new Blueray player will play DVD's as well as Blueray Disc format movies.

For the common connection that most people use, there are only 3 wires to consider. Yellow for Video, Red and White for Stereo. Always use the line out jacks on the back of the player to connect to the TV. Use the Line in (Video In) jacks on the TV set.

The only thing to remember here is to match the colors exactly and select the video source from your TV remote control. If all those numbers and buttons are confusing to you, just memorize where your Source button is on the remote, and choose one input at a time until your DVD welcome screen appears.

The next higher quality Video source will be the component Video outputs on your DVD or BlueRay player. These will be Red, Green And Blue.

Also note that you will need a red/white audio cable for sound with these connections since the component outputs only transmit Video.
You will be able to see the audio connectors close to the red blue and green component outputs on most players. All connectors on your player will be outputs, unless you bought a DVD recorder and player.
We will reference only the player type at this time.
As mentioned before, you only need to match the wires from the DVD or BlueRay output to the exact input connectors on your TV, but now the audio connectors need to be used as well.

Use your source selector on the remote as before to View your movie.

The easiest connector to hit the market so far is the HDMI version, which combines the Video signal as well as the audio signal into a single manageable cable. If your TV set doesn't have this connector you will need to use one of the above methods to connect your system.

To use the HDMI you need only plug it in to the connector designed for its use on both the TV as well as the player.

There is very little chance you will connect this to the wrong port, but just in case your HDMI TV and DVD/Blueray player are equipped with an Optional USB port, you should read the panel closely to be sure you have the right port. Remember, these connectors should never be forced on. If they are too tight to connect, you may have chosen the USB port by mistake.

My rca blueray dvd player will only play dvd not blue ray

What model player do you have? What movies are you trying to watch?

Check if there is a firmware update for your player. If your player is older and your movie is a recent release, you may not be able to watch it unless there is a firmware update. (If no updates are available, the manufacturer wants you to replace the unit.) Due to changes in copy protection and codecs, new movies can't be interpreted on an older player.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your blue-ray player for more support.

How do you receive your Netflix... through your computer, your net-enabled TV, or another device like a BlueRay player, or AV receiver?

Just received a Samsung BR BD-P1500 2009 model, as a gift. No one code for the remote control work for my Panasonic Viera TC-L37D2 bought in 2010. Samsung "assistance" told me that my BR is too...

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

I wish that I had better news.

Programming dvd player

It sounds like you may not be on the correct input selection on the tv to watch the dvd player. Ther are probably three or four inputs to choose from on your tv. whichever input you hooked the dvd player into on the tv is the same imput you have select using the tv's remote control in order to watch movies on the dvd player.

Speakers work only on DVD

You might have connected your TV/Stereo Receiver up to the wrong audio outputs of the DVD player. Make sure you are coming out of the FRONT left/right audio outputs and not the CENTER?REAR left/right audio outputs.
