We're and how to change the cooker hood fuse

Thanks Peterfitz, simple solution, changed fuse after one of the lights blowing had blown the fuse. Fuse and isolator behind the chimney casing could be better situated (like the hob under the work top) and my installer had got the flexible duct tight to the fuse position which made it difficult to get out. Anyway, cheap resolution to the problem.

SOURCE: a bulb blew in my tecnik cooker hood and neither

In case you are still looking for an answer. The same happened to me.
I found a 3-amp fuse which I changed, and now it's ok.
I removed the chimney casing and located the electrical connection into the wall. You'll find a fuse unit within the switch which swings out.

Hope this helps.

Check power from the wall.

Check power in the wiring coming into the hood.

Check to see wiring is not broken.

SOURCE: internal cooker hood

Hi judav,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You live in a flat with no chimney and you would like to install a cooker hood. how do you do this please?

Is there living space above? If so you can't go straight up. If your range is on an outside wall, it can be piped out the back. If only attic or roof above, no problem. Just pipe it straight up useing B-vent pipe or equivlent. If you can't do any of this just get a hood that vents filtered air back into the room.

Feel free contact me again!

Hi! I've got lamona HJA2450 cooker hood which stopped working. I thought it might be fuse but light is still on. Do you think is motor?

Possibly - before going any further - you need to get to where you can access the motor and check to see if there is a (usually red) RESET switch (or button) on the motor. When it gets too hot, etc. it'll trip and the motor can reset. Pushing that button may fix your problem - all the best, Justin M. 17 South Industries

Connection of mains flex into hood joint box

Hello Dave,

in the hood there are normally 3 wires in the connection box.
When it is in Europe, they are green/yellow for earth, blue for N and brown or black for L
N is the zero line, L is the power line.

Kind regards, Dik

Can I wash the cooker hood carbon filter

No! The material is impregnated with minute carbon granules which will have absorbed all the grease and moisture coming from the cooker, like little pieces of coke (smokeless fuel!!). If the filter is a cartridge type, a search on Google for the model may help. Search under "cooker extractor spares". If it's a cloth type, there are numerous cheap shop choices for universal filter material that you just trim to fit.

Fan on cooker hood does not work but light works

It it new? Maybe the fan connection in the connection panel come loose or was not done properly from factory. Turn off the breaker to the hood and inspect the wires and connections, if all is good, then maybe the switch needs replacing. Good Luck!

The lights and the fan in our Tecnik electric range cooker hood have stopped working. I am not certain of the product number. It was bought 5 years ago and is stainless steeI. I suspect a blown fuse but...

Hello Jack728,

I never have found a fuse IN a cooker hood as long as I repair them.
My first impression would be a faulty connection to the grid, as both functions of the hood do not work.

I hope this helps, Kind regards, Dik

Cooker hood

Look around on the hood and cooker for a small fuse. If you find one, replace it with one of the same type and rating.
