Question about Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Steamvac won't **** the water into the recovery tank.

Hoover F5914-900 has suddenly stopped sucking the water back out of the carpet. The brushes are spinning, but it's not "vacuuming" anything.

This usually means one of a few things:

1. The lower tank is full
2. You did not dispense water (sloution tank empty), when applying solution to the floor.

my steamvac is doing the same thing, have only had this for a year!!! NOT HAPPY!

There are several items to check, if the above does not resolve the problem.

    1. Check to make sure the front panel duct is installed into the dirty water tank. (lower tank). On earlier models it is removed for using the accessory hose. Later models it just flips downward. You cannot have the hose attached, and attempt to clean the floor. This model is either floor only or hose only, not both.

    2. make sure the lower tank lid is installed and secured properly.

    3. Although uncommon, remove the lower tank and locate where the round tube sits in the body of the steam cleaner. You should see a round black rubber gasket installed over the suction tube for the motor.

    4. With this model, clean the lint filter located under a clear cover in fronr of the machine.

Hoover brush and wash instruction manual

Hi there! To prepare for cleaning, put the solution and water in the top tank. While cleaning, all the dirty water gets sucked into the bottom tank. To clean squeeze trigger to release cleaning solution and slowly push carpet cleaner forward, this equals one wet stroke. Continue to squeeze trigger and slowly pull carpet cleaner back toward you (second wet stroke). Release trigger and slowly push carpet cleaner forward over area just sprayed with solution (dry stroke). Then slowly pull carpet cleaner back toward you without squeezing trigger (dry stroke). To avoid saturating the carpet don't do more than 4 wet strokes over one area. Always end with dry strokes. Here is a link to view the instruction manual if needed.

Hoover spin brush model f5914-900 wont draw water back out of carpet

Please remove the recovery tank and check and see there is a black rubber ring seal on the large vacuum tube that rises from the base to meet the bottom corner of the recovery tank. This rubber seal may have fallen off the tube and be found laying under the hood. It seals the vacuum source to the recovery tank.

I can't seem to figure out how to use it =(

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5807 SteamVac Wet/Dry Vacuum. Well, there are 2 tanks, one is the water solution tank that is on top and the other is the water recovery tank of which is on the bottom. You use the trigger assm to release the water and the Hoover SteamVac works the best on the pull back. You can spry the water going forward but pull it back very slowly and let the brushes do the scrubbing for you and the dirty water pickup. There is a ball in the dirty water pup tank that will rise to the top and stop the water from coming in, @ that point you need to empty and rinse out the recovery tank and re-install. If you run out of solution the top tank cap or cover is the measuring cup to determine the amount of solution – usually it is one cap full and extremely hot water, there is a switch for the carpet and the upholstery, if the handle is in the released position then the brushes down below should be moving – just look in the brushes window and see if they are moving – if the handle is in the upright position then you can remove the attachment hose and then use the attachment and the revolving brushes will stop. I hope this will help you in working with the Hoover SteamVac. If not contact the Hoover Co and get an owner’s manual and give them the model # and serial #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Solution tank does not dispense--recovery tank still sucks up dirty water from tile floor on screen porch. I applied cleaner manually with a scrub brush and sucked it up with the hoover steam vac deluxe.

Check to see if the when you squeeze the trigger, the rod is hitting the reservior asm(tank sits on). If not then there is a problem inside the handle and the rod. If it is hitting, then the reservior asm. is bad. Also make sure fluid is coming out of the tank when you push the vavle in at the bottom of the tank.

My cleaner is not dispensing the shampoo solution. Still sucks up the dirty water that I manually applied with a scrub brush. I use this on my tiled screen porch floor and it has worked great many times.

Steam vac will not pick up dirty water

My Hoover Steamvac problem isn't with the bruches--it's with the suction. Dirty soapy water stays in the carpet instead of being returned to one of the holding tanks.
