You will need to create one.

Windows system errors, crashes and other problems may lead to a malfunctioning system or an operating system that doesn't load properly. You can create a Windows system-repair or automated recovery disc that contains tools for fixing the operating system. The CD you create will contain system-recovery options and tools like Windows' Startup Repair, System Restore and the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool.

Insert a CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Click the "Start" button. Type "backup" in the search box and click the "Backup and Restore" search result entry. Select the "Create a System Repair Disc" option in the left column. Click "Yes" or "OK" if a user account control message appears. Click the "Drive" drop-down menu and select the name and letter of your CD/DVD drive. Press the "Create Disc" button. Wait for the progress bar to turn completely green and Windows to finish the repair disc. Click "Close" and then "OK" to exit the repair disc wizard. Hope this helps.

Where do i get the Windows automated recovery disk

deanradmach,

Unfortunately, Dell does not provide an automated recover disk. On Dell computers Dell has installed a Factory Image to restore your system to factory conditions. On this computer there is no restore partition. You would need to manually format and reinstall Windows.
Below is a link with information on installing windows.
Once you click on the link you can choose which OS you want to install.

Installing Windows

Thank You,

Control f11 does not work

That computer might not have the Dell Recovery partition installed on it. If not, those keys mean nothing and the system will see it as an error.

If you can get into windows, go to the Disk Manager (Right click my computer, manage, disk management). If the recovery partition is installed, you'll see it there. It will be formatted with the FAT32 file system. If you don't see it, its not there.

Even if it is installed, it might be broken.

You might have to boot to the CD and restore from there instead. When you do, it should install the recovery partition for the next time you need it.

The recovery CD will probably not be automated so you'll have to sit there and answer some questions.

Formatted acer aspire 5736z with windows 7 ultimate and finished but operating system not loading and takes me to recovery screen tried recovery but still takes me there again and again, tried to boot...

Please take a close look at the disk you are using to install "Windows 7 Ultimate". It is definitely a "Recovery Disk" for Windows 7 Ultimate. You cannot install Windows 7 with a recovery disk. Recovery disk always is used to repair corrupt or damaged files of Windows OS and requires that the Operating System is already installed. You need a "Windows 7 Ultimate" Installation disk to install Windows not a recovery disk for Windows.

My dell 600 goes into the blue screen and Wont Load (Error mesg)

This is quite common, and easy to fix, I have included a link below to help you.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811014

Insert the Windows Recovery CD into the disk drive and reboot the computer.
Check the computer's boot order. This must be done from the BIOS set-up before boot begins. Pressing "F2" will start the BIOS set up on most PCs. (This is not always the case, and the boot screens will tell you which button will take you to the system set-up.) Make sure that your CD drive comes before your hard disk in the boot order.
Select the drive with the Windows installation you wish to repair when you see the menu to select a hard disk drives. If you have mistakenly swapped a Windows Installation CD for the recovery disk, enter the automated system recovery and place the recovery disk in the drive when prompted to do so.
Select the drive that needs to be prepared. You will be asked for the administrator password. Enter the administrator account password if one has been set up.
Type "expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32." Windows is not case sensitive, but you must spell the commands correctly. This copies the ntoskernel.exe file to the approrpriate directory.
Press "Y" when the program asks if you want to proceed.
Enter the exit command and the reboot the system. Take the CD out of the drive and Windows should load correctly.

Windows is resuming message

XP repair
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

You can try this first before the XP repair :
Chkdsk
Take the Windows XP disk. Boot from it, then DO NOT select F2 (automated system recovery) but continue through the procedure until you get to the point where you can choose between installing Windows XP and entering the Recovery Console. Once you get into the Recovery Console, do chkdsk and fix potential errors on your disks! Chkdsk C: /R

Support cd

All of the drivers are available on Intel's support site - using a different computer, you can use Nero, PowerISO, etc to make an image of your windows disk; Download the motherboard drivers on the same computer, then download and use WinLite - you can automate the windows installation, include drivers and Windows Update Patches, and burn it all onto a boot-able disk! (Basically, make your own System Recovery CD)
