Car makes a terrible clunk noise when you turn the steering wheel and accelerate sometimes. It's also starting to pull to the right. Isn't the motor mount. Maybe the tie rods?

no dont think so ,jack up both side on the front and have a good look with a crowbar ,sorry prise bar ,i suspect its the antiroll bar bushes on the subframe but without make and model i cannot tell you what to look for ? if the antiroll bar connects to through the lower track control arm then would allow it to move causing the pull to the right ,if a link bar with ball joints used as in a peugeot then it would just clunk .

How to replace rear anti roll bar bushes

check the rear links
anti roll bar buses is held by one or two bolt
undo the bolt and put new bush in and do the bolts up..

but have a pry bar with you as new buses need to be pushed in for fastening the bolts

Depending on the suspension design the lower ball joints could be rattling but it is less likely on a system that has upper ball joints and if so they tend to produce an altogether heavier knock rather than a rattle.

Worn track rod ends and/or steering racks can cause a rattle but the most common cause is the stabiliser connecting rod - the rod or bar connecting the antiroll bar or stabiliser bar to the suspension arm or strut which traditionally is an arrangement of rubber bushes but more recently using one or two small ball joints.

Shock absorbers too can rattle - a lot!
They break sometimes and sometimes a mounting bolt becomes a little loose and sometimes the internal valves wear and cause horrible rattles for which there is no visible cause...

I think your steering was OK to begin with before the "overhaul" But I also think that the knock you described is caused by two worn sway bar bushes. You should replace the two drop links while your at it. Whole job is only an hours labour and parts are quite cheap. Try Rock they sell loads of them. This is my third Tucson. First one developed a knock at about 40,000. 2nd Tucson at about the same mileage and my current Tucson has 49,450 miles on the clock. Just replaced them and it rides ( and steers) perfect once again ( no noisy clunk every time I hit a pothole). You need to drop the subframe slightly at the footwell to get the clamps off.... My bet is, your guys lubricated the bushes with WD40 while they had easy access. Try it yourself .... spray the bushes and the noise goes for a short time..... If it helps.... I also think there is an airlock in the steering fluid. BTW: Hyundai tech guys know about this problem with the bushes not lasting that long. The rubber bulges out of the clamp under certain loading conditions. They fit a jubilee type clamp on the inside of the bushes now to stop it happening. but I think the rubber is too soft. When you take them off, the car is at a standstill and they don't look worn. They do however bulge out of the clamp slightly and allow the bar to move outside the design spec and this causes a knock. Sometimes you can even feel it through the pedals. Hope that helps. Mike

Clanking noise rear driver side. Sounds like a loose shock? Struts replaced and everyting feels tight. Still get metal to metal noise over small bumps or dips?

lower track control arm or the antiroll bar bush ,jack it up and block it with a stand then use a crow bar ot wiggle woggle the joints ,its the only way toy find the fault

Knock right rear suspension after driving some miles and car warm. NOT antiroll bar bushes - these have been replaced, as have damper mounts.

its known in Australia that sometimes its the valving in the shocker causing it to knock,get shock absorbers checked,it should be under new car warranty still unless youve exceeded the mileage,but they are known to have the odd faulty shock absorber

Renault Magane Authentique 2001 (Y)- Squeaky brakes and shaky front wheel. The brakes squeak often but not always and sometimes even squeak when brake pedal is released. Seems to squeak less or not at all...

What condition are the front disks in? is there a lip on the disks ? Now what i do when i get problems like this is to change the front pads for a good brand and not the cheapos ,also i get the hacksaw and cut a groove through the pad horizontal to the disk and this often cures the problem as for the rattle then blob of glue on the hubcap and renew the antiroll bar link rod if fitted or the bushes on the arm ,think this model has a link bar and not a bush direct onto the lower track control arm but hey iam a back street cowboy not a dealer (fit new) mechanic on one model only
