I would check the thermal fuse on the back of the dryer where the vent come out remove the back panell it is a small white with2 blue wirs most of the time and one screw holding it in un less you dryer does not have a removeable back then there is a removable front cover acrose the bottom remove it and the fuse is on the blwer housing the in the front should look the same and described above.

The belt around the drum has come off or broke. The front of your dryer will have to come off to inspect

Kenmore 80 Series Gas Dryer wont turn back on after blowing fuse

Good day,
First, reverse the washer and dryer plugs in the outlet.
If that works, then the outlet needs changed.
If not,
The light switch is hot wired to the light circuit. Which means, if the machine is plugged in, the light will work.
Two possibilities.
1.The cord is bad, and needs replaced.
2. The light switch, which also runs the circuit to the motor is bad.
To access the switch, remove the lint filter, remove the 2 screws under it, then with a screw driver, pry up the top lid, one side at a time.
Lift the lid, but do not go above vertical. You will see the switch, and how to remove it.
You will need a VOM meter to test these items.
As well, make sure the machine is unplugged.

The following clip, at the beginning will get you started if you have to access the switch.

Kenmore 80 series gas dryer has not heat

most of these dryers have a little plastic plug on the front, left side. pop that plug out and look inside after turning it on. you should see a red glow. if not, then your ignitor has broken. if you see a glow, then the problem is probably one of the two little coils on the gas valve. these coils will sense if there is something to light the gas [the red glow] and open the valve - if the coils are bad, they won't open the valve
