Takes 2 to 3 attempts to open Explorer

Sometimes when I click on the e button my computer just opens a blank screen and after awhile says can't connect. If I try again sometimes the same thing happens and other times it finally connects on the second or third attempt. This happens almost every time.
I am directly connected to Verizon Fios router.

I had a little bit of trouble following the instructions, but after I figured out where to define the IP address all was working perfectly! Thanks so much for "fixing" my problem.

Cannot create folder

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder in which you wish to create the new folder.
The "My Documents" folder is a good choice if you are new to Windows.
2
Look at the left side of the Explorer Window for an area marked "File and Folder Tasks."
Click on the link that says "Make a new folder."

3
Click on "File" on the menu bar to begin creating a new folder in a different way.
Select the "New" menu item and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

4
Move the mouse cursor to a blank area of the folder area and right click to bring up the context menu to begin creating a new folder in a third way.
Select "New" and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

5
Utilize a fourth method to create a folder directly on the desktop.
Right click on a blank area of the desktop.
Select "New" and click on the "Folder" submenu item.

6
Type a name for the new folder in the highlighted area after using any of the methods described in Steps 2 through 4.
Press the "Enter" key or click in a blank area of the folder window to complete the process.
also you might just open your drive right click inside select new folder and name it.

Restore Folder Options in Windows XP
Windows XP has several viewing options that you can modify for folders in Windows Explorer. These include being able to customize whether you activate items by clicking them once or twice, whether Windows displays hidden and protected files and several other options.
If you have played with these options in an attempt to determine how you prefer to use your computer, you may accidentally reach the point where you have changed so many items that you are unsure of how to revert to the original configuration.
For this reason, Windows XP allows you to restore the folder options to their defaults by clicking a button.
Open Windows Explorer.
Two of the fastest ways to do this are by clicking the "Start" button and then clicking "My Computer" and by double clicking the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.
Click the "Tools" drop-down menu and select "Folder Options."

Click the "General" tab, and then click the "Restore Defaults" button if you would like to restore the default settings for the "Common Tasks" bar on the left side of folders, whether new folders open in the same window or a new window and whether items open with a single click or double click.
Click the "View" tab, and then click the "Restore Defaults" button if you would like to restore any advanced view settings to their defaults, such as whether Windows displays hidden and protected files.
Click the "Reset All Folders" button if you would like to restore the default viewing option to all folders, such as the detailed view or list view.
Click "OK" to save your changes.

Sometimes when I click on the Internet Explorer icon, and error message appears in front of a blank web page. The error message says "Internet Explorer has stopped working. Click to close program". When...

Try a scan with your virus scan, then with a malware scanner, i use Malwarebytes.
I would then use CCleaner, use the registry cleaner also.
This will clean out all your temp files, and remove any registry errors that may be causing IE from starting properly.
You could also use Firefox, or chrome as your browser if this does not fix it

    Can't open Internet Explorer...says "connecting"

You can do several thing to fix this.

In AOL 9.0, right click the AOL icon in the taskbar at the right hand corner of near the clock, then click on System Information. When it opens...it takes a few seconds...click on the Utilities tab at the top of the page. Click on the Quick Restore button at the bottom of the page. Click on Procedd, then follow any on-screen instructions after that.

If you donot have the AOL tray icon, click on Start, Programs and look for America Online (no version number next to it). Click on AOL System Information in the sub-menu.

In versions of AOL before 9.0:
    Go to My Computer
    Double-click the C: drive
    Double-click on Program Files
    Double-click on America Online X.0

((Note): If you have several installations of AOL, open the latest installation file, i.e., 8.0, 8.0a, etc. 8.0a if the latest installation.)

    Doulbe-click on the Backup folder
    Right-click on main (or main.idx)

Screen goes blank or freezes until battery dies sometimes or randomly

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

    1) Back up all files on the GoGear
    2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
    3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
    4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
