Reasons of y signals not going to the monitor

Is the monitor showing a blank screen or is it showing the message NO SIGNAL??

If you have a Desktop try the steps below:
If it is showing the message NO SIGNAL, then the video card in the computer is bad, because when the monitor is bad, it will show nothing at all. To isolate the problem plug another monitor on the computer and see if it displays. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original Monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same as your original, then the video card in the computer is bad.

If it is a laptop try the steps below:

Doesnt go to the start page

I would recommend that you try to boot the computer in Safe Mode. This will load the basic drivers and few programs, allowing you to determine if there is a hardware or software issue preventing the machine from performing a standard bootup.

Step 1. Remove any discs in the CD/DVD drives.

Step 2. Power off your computer.

Step 3. Disconnect all devices from your computer except the power cable.

Step 4. Power on your computer, and press the F8 button every second or so until you are brought to the Windows Safe Mode screen.

Step 5. Select the Safe Mode (without networking) option and hit Enter.

Step 6. The machine will then begin to load with the most basic drivers and basic programs.

Step 7. Be patient during this time. It may appear that the machine is stuck. Give it up to 5 minutes.

Step 8. If your machine performs a successful boot, log on with an administrator account.

Step 9. On the Desktop, right-click on My Computer and select Manage.

Step 10. In the Manage Your Computer Console, in the left hand side, expand Event Viewer.

Step 11. Scan through the logs to see if there is any issues recorded during the last successful boot.

Step 12. If you find any issues, read through them carefully to see what they say.

Step 13. Restart your computer and let it perform a regular boot.

Step 14. If you expereince anymore issues, let us know.

Sound card

Thank you for posting your question.

To find what type of audio device you have installed on your computer do the following:

Step 1. On your Desktop, right-click on My Computer and select Manage.

Step 2. You will be brought to the Computer Management Console.

Step 3. In the left column, click on Device Manager.

Step 4. This will show you all the current hardware/devices that are installed on your machine. Scroll down the list until you find Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, and hit the arrow to expand it. You should have your audio device listed there.

Step 5. If you see any device that has an exclamation point next to it, this means that the device is experiencing an issue. This issue may be a bad configuration, or it may mean that the device has failed.

Step 6. if you see any device with a question mark, this means that your operating systems has found the device, but that it is unknown. This can be fixed by installing or upgrading the device drivers.

Step 7. You may even have a device that is hidden for unknown reasons. You can unhide aany devices by clicking on View in the top Menu bar and selecting Show Hidden Devices.

Step 8. On your particular computer, you have an ADI Soundmax card installed and you can download the drivers from the HP website.

Device won't show up in Windows Media Player

You don't need Windows Media Player to put music on your device. I created a tutorial that should help you. Please post a comment if you need further assistance.

How to load an MP3 player without using Windows Media Player. First, allow me to clarify a few things so that there is less confusion: When you connect an mp3 player to a computer, you will not be able to use it until it's disconnected. In other words, the only thing you should do while the player is plugged into the computer is adding or deleting files. You can't use the buttons on the player while it's communicating with the computer, and as long as it's connected to the USB port, it's communicating. Ok, let's get started! Step 1 Connect the player to your USB port using the cable that came with it. (NOTE): If the player has a male USB connector already on it, connect the player directly into the computer without using the cable. In other words, only use a cable if you have to. Step 2 Click the "Start" button or press the key on the keyboard that has the Windows logo, and go to My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Vista). Step 3 Locate your MP3 player on this screen. (NOTE): It should show up under Devices with Removable Storage OR as a device under "Other." Most importantly, it should show up on this screen as something! When the player is connected, you should have something on this screen (usually an icon of some sort) that represents the player. This lets you know that the unit is ready to receive files because it's being recognized by your computer. Do not close this window before going to the next step. If you want it out of the way, just minimize it. Step 4 Locate and open the folder that contains your music files. Step 5 Using the mouse, copy one or more files. (Right mouse click on file, then left mouse click on copy) Step 6 Go back to the "My Computer" or "Computer" screen, right mouse click on the icon representing the player, then, left mouse click on paste. You should see a small status bar appear showing the file(s) being copied from your music folder to the player. Step 7 Click on the Safe to Remove icon found in your system tray and disconnect the player. And that's it! If you need additional assistance, I will help in any way that I can.
