SOURCE: No IP address on Brother Printer

Hi, I am assuming that it works whn it is connected directly to your system, as you told that you got your printer replaced. And as you may know that connecting through CAT5 cable is the RECOMEND way..but thats what every1 else tell. So now, the 1st doubt that comes in my mind is about the OS you are using. The model you are using is compatible with Windows, Mac & Linux.
The 2nd possibility rises have you installed the appropriate driver for the printer you are willing to use and check your wireless settings too.
Now the 3rd possibility is that maybe there is something wrong with your router. Maybe you should make sure that the router is working properly.

How old is the drum unit on the printer. Really sounds like either the drum unit, which is different from the toner on the Brother machines, or the High Voltage power supply is failing.

Chemical odor...

Hi,

HERE ARE 10 EFFECTIVE WAYS TO REMOVE THE BAD SMELL:

1. CharcoalCharcoal is on top of my list as it is one of the best absorbent agents that can absorb and soak up the bad odour. Charcoal is also widely used as water filters and in most odour removing commercial products. You can put a medium-sized chunk of charcoal inside your smelly refrigerator for instance, and leave it there for a couple of days. You will notice that it can effectively remove the bad smell.
2. Baking SodaBaking soda is also a good absorbent. Put a generous amount of baking soda in an uncovered container (the size of the container depends on the size of the confined area) and leave it for several days. Remove the baking soda and replace it with new one and leave it for a couple of days. Continue replacing the baking soda until it has cleared the bad smell.
3. Lemon or Lime PeelJust put some lemon or lime peels into an uncovered container and leave them inside the confined area for a couple of days. The citrus smell will naturally replace the bad smell.
4. Pandan Leaf (also known as Pandanus or Screwpine)It is easy to get pandan leaf in tropical countries as it is widely used in Southeast Asian cooking to add aroma to dishes. Its pleasant aroma also acts as natural air freshener. Just take a few strips of the pandan leaves and tie them into knots. Place the leaves inside the confined space and leave them until the leaves withered or dried up. Replace the leaves regularly until the smell goes away.
5. Vanilla Essence Pour several drops of vanilla essence on a couple of cotton wools. Toss the cotton wools inside the confined space such as your wardrobe. Leave them for several days and you will notice that the area smells nice.
6. Mint Extract If you favor neither the smell of citrus nor vanilla, you can perhaps use mint extract instead. Pour several drops of mint extract on a couple of cotton wools. Toss the cotton wools inside the confined space and leave them for a couple of days.
7. Fresh Ground CoffeeGround coffee has a nice, crisp natural aroma. Just put about a cup of ground coffee in a flat, uncovered container. Place the container inside the confined space for several days. If the bad smell is extremely horrible, put more ground coffee. The area will smell of fresh coffee for many days.
8. Tea BagsIf you don't like coffee, you can use tea bags instead. Just place 2-3 tea bags inside the confined space. The tealeaves in the bags will not only absorb the bad smell but also will release the natural aroma of tea.
9. Orange and ClovesGet an orange and poke it with sharp objects like needle or fork to form small holes. Place each of the cloves inside these small holes until most of the orange surfaces are covered. It may look like a hedgehog with the cloves jutting out of the orange fruit. Leave it in the confined area for a couple of days. The area will smell nice with the said combinations.
10. Old Newspaper and Slices of BreadOld newspaper and slices of bread also work wonders in absorbing the bad odours particularly inside the refrigerator. Just place some crumpled old newspaper and two slices of bread (uncovered) inside your refrigerator and leave them for two days. Replace them (especially the bread) regularly until the bad smell is removed.

You can also use the combination of any of the above tips together, to effectively remove bad smell. Try those tips and you will say goodbye to bad smells forever.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

I have a new MacBook Pro and cannot get my Brother printer to work with it. The computer recognizes the printer but does not print.

Hi,
Did you install the Mac driver for MFC? The MFC comes with driver for windows and Mac. Place the Mac Driver disk to DVD slot and run the installation for your MFC printer. Follow the instruction to complete the installation.
When you try to print something, make sure the MFC printer is selected.
If you've done all of this and still not able to print, please turn off your MFC, wait 15 seconds and turn on again to see problem solve or not.
Hope this will help. Thanks for reading.

Brother MFC 250C has no power and will not turn on. The power cord is plugged in and turned on but yet there's power to it?

For general troubleshoot of any no power device is always just:
Try a different power cord (these cords are all the same, you can use a standard computer cord)
Try a different power outlet (no surge protector, direct to wall to a known working outlet)

If it still gets no power at all the the power supply has probably gone bad and will need to be replaced.
If the machine is out of warranty however the cost to repair it will probably be more than the cost of replacing the unit with a new one.

Your best bet would be to call around your local printer repair shops and see if they have any of these models on hand as spare part donor machines.

I have a Scanner Malfunction on my Brother HL-1440. How do I fix it?

Hi,
This is what I would try... with the power on ... unplug it. Wait a couple of minutes and plug back in. Turn it on and try a scan.

If this doesn't work I would contact the dealer... or depending on how old it is replace and upgrade.

I'm sorry this isn't the answer anybody wants to hear , but I have had no luck with Brother, not fixing them, not getting them fixed, only with returning and/or upgrading to a different brand.

Hope the Fix Works,

HL-2030 printer won`t print labels with Word 2007

If it's the same as my Hl-5250DN, you have to use MP Tray mode. The MP (multi-purpose) tray is cleverly hidden on the front of my printer.

Printer is not working.

Your computer should pop up and tell you that you've installed a new piece of equipment anytime you plug something into the USB port, since most peripherials are plug and play. If not, then it doesn't recognize the printer. You may have a bad USB port. Try plugging the wire into a different USB port during the installation process.

With Brother, you have to use their installation CD and follow their instructions. You can't hook up the wires till *after* the CD has walked you through their installation process.

Try reinstalling using their CD and a new USB port to see if it will work now.
