Melted candy in dryer

Hi mcdo3800...
You will need to disassemble the dryer to remove the melted candy...
I will send you instructions on how to replace the belt, it will include all the instructions you will need to disassemble the dryer for cleaning and to do some maintenance.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Note: This method workds for most front loading machines.
If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.
If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place, some seals are furnished with the cement to glue it in place.
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer if necessary. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections.
Remove the lint filter and the two screws that hold the filter housing to the top of the dryer lid.
Then remove the top of the dryer by inserting a screwdriver between the top and frame on each side of the dryer to pop the lid up from the retaining clips.
Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards on a type of hinge and do not have to be removed completly.
Remove the front of the machine by disconnecting the door switch and removing the two screws located on either side of the dryer frame.
Move the door and front of machine forward to remove.
This will expose the belt, idler bracket and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
Note:The way the belt goes back on is, as the belt comes off the drum has to be doubled (pushed together to form a loop) and goes under the idler pulley then to the motor pulley.

While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil or a vasoline type of lubricant. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

Hi johnstx...
Follow the instruction for belt replacement below...it works on 90 % of the front load dryers

Makes a strange noise, as if something is rubbing. The dryer works, I took off the bottom front panel, and evrything seems fine, ie the belt looked fine, no debris found.

Most noise complaints from this style dryer comes from the idler pulley and two drum support wheels. The idler pulley just clips into the bottom of the dryer and keeps tension on the drum belt. The drum rollers have clips that must be removed from the shafts before trying to replace them. If one wheel is worn out, replace them both = less problems later on. See "how to take apart" to access the rollers, once the belt is disconnected from the idler pulley and motor pulley, lift out the drum. The roller on the left has a bracket and 2 clips to remove before the roller can be replaced. The right roller has just 1 clip that must be removed to replace the roller. Use a cloth or fine sand cloth to clean up the shafts, use a light oil before installing the new rollers. DO NOT use a heavy grease as this will attract dust and become very dirty and gum up the rollers. Check the belt will you are there and clean out any dust from motor and from the drum base. See how to take apart information. Anew picture of the roller, shaft and clips... you can get the required board and components at ----- www.partselect.com -------- or from ------ www.repairclinic.com ----
---------
if you are not familiar with doing this you can get it done by local appliance repair technician familiar with this model.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

I have a Hotpoint Dryer and the belt snapped, we purchased a replacement belt but are having a hard time figuring out how to install the new belt. The instructions call this belt a drive shaft. Please...

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.

If you have to replace your drum belt and if you have a front loading machine.

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt, felt seal, and drum.
Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley.
The route of the belt will go around the motor pulley first, then it will go around the idler arm bracket with pulley, then around the drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

Belt broken on LEC8858Eq0 need instructions on how to replace belt and pulley.

To open the dryer, remove screws under the lint filter door/ handle. Pull top towards you and lift on front, top should pop up and rotate back. There will be two sheet metal screws one on either side of the front door panel, remove them and pull front out and clear of the drum, an extra hand can really help with this. Lift on t he door panel and either disconnect the door switch connector or just turn it out of the way. Look under the drum, if the idler pulley does not have a roller on it, you should replace it. If it does have a roller, check for signs of wear and seizing, only then should that one be replaced. While you're in there it is always a good idea to clean out the lint and check the drum rollers. When putting back together, the drum may cause a problem seating on the front door seal. you may need to rotate the drum back and forth to work it into position.

There are several possibilities. Your dryer drum may be off track with the rear drum support rollers. There is a groove that runs along the circumference of the drum that the rollers are supposed to ride it. Or, you may have roller that is binding up and not rolling freely. Lint can accumulate on them and causes them to stick. If you haven't cleaned the dryer interior lately, or lubricated the rollers, it may be time to do so. You could also have a rear drum seal that is worn and may be causing the drum not to stay seated properly. Please let me know if you have checked any of these possibilites. I can provide you instructions on how to replace any parts, if necessary.
