Without more detail it could be hard to trace your problem to its root. What are you plugging in? Try to see if it works on another tv to rule out the possibility of it being your console or whatever your trying to plug in. If it works. Be sure your connections are fully plugged in and check your tv input channel. Be sure your on the right input. If your console did not work on another tv try different cables. This may be your problem. But if your sure the console is not the problem and your on the right channel, then it may be a bad solder joint on your input ports inside your tv.

It sounds like your cables are connceted ok, but what you neede to do is to be able the switch from one video mode to the other so lets go through the cable and vrc conncetions again just to make sure. From your cable set top box connect your component video (RGB) video out to your TV (RGB) video in via the (RGB)cables. From your VCR connect your composite video (yellow) out to your TV composite video in withe the composite video (yellow) cable. From your VCR (Left & Right audio out)connect your left and right audio connections (White and Red) to the Audio in of the TV (Left and Right). Whith this setup you should be able to use the TV to switch between the two A/V inputs using the remote control.

Try to put DVD conection to your tv if it works normal no problem to your tv, but if sound dosnt work your tv has audio input problem maybe looseboard, or maybe you check the setting for audio.

My guess is bthe tuner is analog and you can't decode anything either by way of antenna or cable. You either need a converter for the antenna or a settop box for cable.

Sony 60 in LCD edge LED TV: Hooked up new TV to a cable box - have HD picture but no sound. TV speakers say on. Makes sound when TV channel is changed (static). But nothing when input cable (via HDMI) is...

Your cable box most likely has a setting for audio HDMI such that HDMI sound is turned ON etc. rather than standard audio. Also check the TV settings for HDMI audio being set to ON. This should be a simple fix. HDMI audio usually is just a user setting adjustment and nothing more. Somewhere in your on-screen menus you should find the place to adjust HDMI audio.

Dell W1700 LCD TV static audio and b/w picture

Hi bsut96,
Check the cable between the monitor and the box for damage. Try a new cable. It may be a problem with the input board but it sounds like a cable problem. Let me know what you find and please rate this solution. Lone99star

Blurry Sanyo TV

Well after playing around with the tv some more, I decided the problem was probably the cable jack, and tried running the video in/out cables thru the VCR to get around this, which I read generally works but in this case nothing. I had tried the tv on various settings, anytime I put the tv in "video" mode I'd get a blue screen and nothing else. Anyway I found a switch in the back of the Direct Tv box for ch. 3 & 4 settings. So I flipped it but still got a snowy picture, only this time it was on ch 4 instead of ch 3. By sheer accident I put the tv back in video mode while I had the satilites setting to ch 4, and the picture came up crystal clear. Since I didn't mess with it further, I'm not sure if it was the channel selector or the fact that hooked the tv up via the video cables, but whatever it was it did the trick.

I just KNEW this could not be a broken tv despite the fact that everhwere I read online suggested it was. I knew pictures can go out, or sound can go out....but to have BOTH go out didn't make sense to me. Anyway, glad its working! :)
