Can I use 12 and 14 gauge wire with a 20 amp outlet no. 16352

Use 12 gauge wire with 20 amp breaker, otherwise the wire could overheat. The wire size and breaker size must match.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Color-codewire2.html

Your outlet will have amp rating on the device.
For example if device is rated for 15 amp, you can still use on 12 gauge wire if outlet is used for 1 TV or a lamp, but getting 20 amp outlet is best, especially in a shop or if a motor plugs into outlet.

You can connect as many wires as needed to the outlet.
Use the quick connects on back of device. Or the screws.
Black hot wire(s) go to side of outlet with narrow blade and brass screws.
White neutral wire(s) go to side of outlet with wide blade and silver screws.
Maximum 12 boxes per circuit breaker.

What is through cord switch?

A feed thru cord switch is a switch that the cord is fed thru during installation. Basically the switch is opened by first removing the two machine screws and their tiny nuts. The two halves will separate, exposing grooves and metal teeth which are designed to puncture the insulation of the wire, usually two conductor lamp cord, after the cord is inserted into one half and the other half is replaced and tightened. This type of switch is commonly used to install an in line on-off switch for a lamp or fan. Hope this helps. Dano

How do I put a light switch on a extetion cord

You want a light switch on extension cord.
What kind of light switch do you have? You posted under GFCI device which is totally different than ordinary wall switch.
And what type of extension cord?
Add a comment with more information.

If ordinary light switch is installed on 3-wire outdoor extension cord:
Slice open the side of cord and you see 3 wires: black, white and green.
Cut the black wire in half and connect each end to brass screw on light switch.

If ordinary light switch is install on indoor 2-wire extension cord.
Look at plug and notice there is a wide blade and narrow blade.
Narrow blade is hot. You want the wire connected to narrow blade.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Connect each end of wire to brass screw on light switch

If you want to install line switch onto indoor 2-wire extension cord:
Narrow blade is connected to hot wire.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Open line switch.
Connect each end of black wire to brass screw. OR if no screws, then place cut wire in open grooves.
Tuck other wire into groove and then reassemble switch.

What model Leviton GFCL should I use? My wire is a 600 volt 12/2 with ground. Said wire feeds other GFCL outlets.

Any off-the-shelf GFCI sold today with work on 12-2 wire:
By code, 12-2 wire should be connected to 20 amp circuit breaker, but typically most switches and outlets wired to that circuit are rated 15 amp. Amp rating is printed on electrical devices.

How to install Pass & Seymour 5410CC10 sp2 cord switch on a torchiere lamp? Can it be used the same as an sp1 switch?

The cord that runs to your light contains two wires.
The cord switch interrupts one wire.
The second wire runs uninterrupted between wall plug and light.

The photo below is not the same switch as yours, but it shows how one wire is interrupted and the other wire is uninterrupted.

geno_3245_26.jpg

Which wire do you want to interrupt?
Look at the wall plug.
Is the plug polarized, where one blade of the plug is wider?
If the plug is polarized, then one blade is wide and the other is narrower.
Each blade of the plug feeds one of the two wires going to lamp.
Locate the narrower blade, and the wire that comes from that side of plug.
The narrow-blade wire is the wire you want to interrupt when installing the cord switch.

If the plug is not polarized, then choose one wire.

I have a firepower fp130 mig welder . I have been using 0.30 wire, can I use bigger wire in it,if so how do I adjust the welder for it

The only thing you need to do is change the tip to the 0.30, and feed the wire. If no 0.30 tip is included with the welder it just isn't designed for that wire. You will also need to flip your friction feed wheel at the box to match the diameter.

I have a cutler hammer switch box that takes care

Is the motor new or old? Is this a recent problem or has it always been that way? What is the motor used for? Does the motor start and stop a lot, or does it run continuous? Is it constantly under load? Is this residential or commercial use? Approx.how long is the circuit? What size wire and breaker are being used? Does it kick out when it starts or while it's running?
The FLA (Full Load Amps) for that motor is 22 x 1.25 = 28 amps. In GENERAL, a motor like that usually requires a minimum #10 (THHN or THWN) wire on a 30 amp breaker. However, NEC does permit up to a 70 amp breaker (250% of the FLA) if the 30 amp breaker is not sufficient for starting.
Remember that it's the built-in motor overloads that protect the wire. Best practice is to use the lowest size breaker possible for ground fault protection that will still allow the motor to start. A 40 amp breaker would be permissible.
On the other hand, if the circuit is very long, you need to increase the wire size to #8 or larger.
If this is an old motor that didn't have this problem before with your current setup, then you may need a new motor, and increasing the breaker size is not usually the solution, at least not without a qualified electrician actually seeing and evaluating the situation first.

What size amp switch do I need.

NO! Use a switch rated higher in amps and equal to or higher in voltage relative to the breaker rating. Use a 40 or 60 amp switch rated a minimum 220 volts.

I want to put a on and off switch just like a light switch in the wiring for my compressor. It has a 40 amp breaker and is a 220 volt compressor. I have a 30 amp, 600 volt switch and I need to know if this...

NO U SHOULD NOT USE THE 30 AMP. SW, THE SW SHOULD BE THE SAME SIZE AS THE PROTECTION AT THE PNL! AND THEY SHOULD BOTH BE THE SIZE THAT IS STATED ON THE NAME PLATE ON YOUR COMPRESSOR, U CAN USE A 220 VOLT SINGLE PHASE NONE FUSED 60 AMP INDOOR OR OUTDOOR TYPE DISCONNECT FOUND AT ANY ELECTRICAL SUPPLY HOUSE, AROUND $20-30 IF I HAVENT BEEN UNDER AROCK FOR LONG! THIS BY THE WAY IS NOT TO BE MOVABLE, SWITCH NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED TO SOMETHING LIKE A WALL OR COLUMN. GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL WITH THE JUICE!
