I have a Compaq Presario CQ60 211DX Here is the list of drivers i found. I hope it works on your CQ60 model
Audio driver: Download file: sp39540 from HP's website
Audio driver # 2: google this file: cx20561_hd_smart_audio221xp\XP32 or click here
For wireless card download : http://www.mediafire.com/?cfdzj3eaizt or search for AR5007_XP file
You may have to hold the wireless switch for a while before you can connect to the internet.
Installing the wifi card and utility and having it work is hard, but is possible: so don't give up.
Ethernet drivers: google: PCIE_Install_5702_0828

You may need to update XP , install dot.net framework 3.1 or higher, windows installer before trying t
he drivers. I had so much trouble finding the right drivers and if I am able to slipstream XP MCE i will post it on www.isohunt.com as a torrent for download to make it easy for those who need the drivers.

==========
I hope this helps

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model computer/laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

I have 2 laptops one is a F700 Preserio (Compaq) and one is a CQ60-615DX Notebook (Compaq) can I purchase a recovery disc for the CQ60-615DX Notebook and use it to reboot my F700 Preserio laptop.

No.
Since the product key of the computer is updated in the motherboard, even if you try a different disc, it will ask for the product key.
If u are using the correct disc, it won't ask for any prouct key.
Also the drivers won't be compatible.

NOTE: There are options to use the same disc to install in both the computers but the process is really hard. If u are ready for that, i can give an outline how to do that.

Drivers of xp for compaq presario Sr5140IL

There's Vista drivers here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3548659&

If XP says the drivers are not for XP, ignore it, and say 'install anyway'.

Nvidia mcp77 RTL8201CL driver for xp

I have the same laptop and installed WinXP and then as many of the Vista drivers as I could.
For the network drivers: I downloaded the Vista drivers for the Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g and that covered the wireless. For the LAN, I downloaded the HP Update software which downloaded the drivers. It's kind of a catch 22 that you can't install the network drivers unless you connect that specific laptop to the Internet so either start with the wireless drivers or as in my case, temporarily use a USB-Ethernet adapter.
Also, for video, it's an nVidia GeForce 8200M G (part of the "GeForce 8M Series") http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/186.81/186.81_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe&lang=us&type=GeForce M
Lastly, for the chipset, I used these drivers: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/nforce_winxp_15.23_uk.html Please note the above drivers are for the "UK" but they seemed to work. After the fact, I found the following drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.25.html which I THINK may be the US equivalent. This installs most of the missing drivers so do this before running windows update to get the newer updated drivers.

Xp drivers for compaq presario desktop MODEL SG3510IL

This model is only sold in India which Microsoft no longer supports XP in. If you look up your motherboard manufacturer/chipset, google to see what generic drivers or what hp/compaq model it is used in that supports XP then download those drivers as "download only" and you will be able to use XP. You may also have to disable AHCI in the BIOS if that is an option. Let me know if you need further assistance. Steve Medley

I have compaq cq60 104u. I have windows xp pro with sp2 installed on it..Howvere the inbuilt mic is not working and i keep getting svchost.exe application error..when i connect to internet. Does this sytem...

svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries.

Sounds like a driver or application problem you have. As you get this when you connect to the internet, sounds like your web browser. Try reinstalling it

Microphone for Compaq lap-top CQ60

I had the same problem before but I'm so glad to share it with you people how I fixed it. I chatted with several people in hp but they adviced me to redo the installation of black vista which I disagreed. So I tried to find a solution for it and I fixed the problem by doing the following.

1. Control Panel
2. System and maintenance
3. Device Manager. On that you will be able to see 2 different audio device. First is generic sound driver (Hi-definition Multimedia Interface) which is integrated to black vista and the other one is nvdia HDMI(if you already installed it).
4. Disable the generic one (Hi-definition Multimedia Interface) NOT NVDIA.
5. After doing it go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-63166-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3804174&os=2093&lang=en click on install. It's should be
Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver 6. Click on install and allow it to finish the installation.

If you still encounter a problem you can post here so I can try to find a solution.\

Thanks,
Ome
