SOURCE: GE Adora front load washer overloaded now won't start

Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer

If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.

Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.

To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.

SOURCE: My washer is full of water and wont drain or spin

hi friend,
If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump
If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many
washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub
that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's
attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the
hoses
from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the
large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using
needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator,
top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might
be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be
turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump
If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably
has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the
pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen
or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns
If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your
washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the
washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck
in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

* If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

* If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

SOURCE: maytag top load washer won't pump water out=intermittent problem

If your lid switch was the problem I dont think (and I might be wrong) that it would spin in the first place.

Your pump may have a separate belt and it could be loose or worn out but this is on older models. The pump may not be turning or turning and not pumping. The pulley may be turning on the shaft and its not pumping. Give it a spin and see if you see it turning inside. If not replace it.

The motor and timmer sounds good because of the "spin" you discribed. So we are left with the pump or a filter if it has one.
Look in the lower section find the pump front right hand corner I believe. Trace the hose back up to the tub above nothing in between and you have eliminated the filter. I filter could be any shape but will either attach with 2 hoses or 1 hose and attached to the side or bottom of the outer tub.

I think your pump is probably stopped up, strings and lint especially if you have some older rugs, towels, and rags that are shedding or coming apart. You can try and clean it pretty easily Unplug. Then remove it and look inside it. Catch all the water you can and keep another towel close by. Examine the water. Looking for lint and the like. If its pretty clean looking and not turning freely look for signs of something wrapped up inside it.

Hope this helps. Please rate me accordingly and good luck.

SOURCE: The timer knob spins freely and I can't start the machine or set the timer.

"Can I replace it with a new knob or do I have to buy a new timer?"

It sounds like the knob is rounded out where it fits on the timer post, or It may just be loose. Pull the knob off and inspect it. If damaged, yes, you can buy another one.

My husband interrupted the spin cycle on our Bosch front load washer and now we are getting an E27 error message. What can I do to fix this?

Here is what worked...
1. Set the knob to off.
2. Hold down both the Spin Selector button and the Allergy Rinse button simultaneously.
3. While holding these two buttons down, rotate the knob one click to the left, to the "cold" position.
4. At that point, the display will show a diagnostic code and the unit will enter a self-test mode. In my case, the solenoid latch started clicking repeatedly. I pressed the Spin Selector button once or twice, which resulted in the display of new codes and then the release of the latch.
5. I set the knob back to off, and the washer now appears to be operating.
6. You're done.

I have a Kenmore washer #11026002010. I am having problems with the water overfilling and not progressing to the next cycle. Would you have info on the fault codes and also the recalibration procedure

Does it sound like it wants to spin? If so more than likely the motor coupler broke causing your washer to not spin. It is one of the most common parts that fail.

Anyhow Sears is the best bet for your answers they even list all the steps needed to trouble shoot.

Installed new door lock still have e27 error code

The E27 error flashes on the washer LCD screen and stops the current load. Unplug your washer for 30 minutes and then plug it back in to reset the code
.
Open and close the door two or three times to reset the sensor. Sometimes the door has been closed too hard and the sensor reading fails.

You can manually release the latch by removing the lower panel (Torx fasteners, I think) and finding a wire lanyard that releases the latch. However, I had read that there was a diagnostic code that could be used to reset the latch solenoid via the control panel.

There is no service manual available on line, as far as I can tell.

Ge WPRE6100G will not spin automatically but it will manually

I just had the same problem with my 2 yr old GE toploader and on mine the problem was a small hose plugged with lint and soap slime leading to the pressure switch. On mine I removed the control panel by removing the top (3) screws in the back of the washer then the face of the whole control panel slides to the right about an inch (MAKE SURE WASHER IS UNPLUGGED ! ) and the panel will pull away being carefull not to unplug any wires on the back of the of the panel. Mine had a plastic hose hooked to the pressure switch on the load size knob just pull the hose off and try blowing thru it if you can't that should be your problem blow it clear. What happens is to spin out the washer get a signal from that pressure switch telling it all the water has pumped out and its ok to spin if it is plugged the washer thinks water is still in the tub and wont spin out.

Hope this helps.

How do I remove the selector knob on washer

The main selector control know spins off by turning the selector inner knob counterclockwise. The outer ring will then pull off. The other knobs are held on with friction and should just pull off.

The best way to get behind the front panel is by removing the top panel of the machine. There should be 2 gray/solver tabs at the back of the machine near the top if you remove the 2/4 screws from the top then the whole top panel will slide forward then lift off.

Be sure to unplug the machine first.
